Damien (manages the listing) and Donna (manages the property) were easy to talk to and organise with. The location of the property is excellent, near (within 5-10min walk) a grocers, bakery (x2), butchers, supermarket, many nice shops and restaurants, and of course, the waterfront.
The property is a nice place to spend time in at any time of the day with comfortable space inside and outside (on the balcony) to kick your feet up and relax. The range of kitchen utensils is easily enough for 4 people and including an acceptable range of pots, pans, plates, glasses, wine glasses, mugs and other things like spatulas etc. However, better knives would be appreciated.
There is air conditioning in both bedrooms and the main room (although this was broken for us) but the bedrooms ones worked well and could cool the whole apartment adequately.
However, the experience was not all ideal. My friends and I had several issues with cleanliness of the apartment and quality of equipment in it. We found hairs and broken glass under the sofa and the floor was so filthy we either always had to wear footwear or get black feet. The kitchen utensils were cheap and shoddy and some partially broken. The mattresses in both rooms were different and neither of them comfortable. They'e both soft-type mattresses, so it could just be personal preference but I think it's also low quality or just old age. The mattress in the front room clearly dipped in the middle.
Lastly, the back room was very noisy to sleep in because of the (I think) air conditioning extraction system right outside the bedroom window. Unfortunately, this, combined with the mattresses didn't lead to the best holiday sleeping experience.
In addition, be careful to note that this listing may not come with basic amenities like soaps (this was actually available because of previous tenants I think), towels and bed linens. If you're staying for a week it should be provided, otherwise the hosts may try to charge you an additional £20 (possibly per person).
Overall, if you can get this place at a price you feel is reasonable then I would recommend you go, because the location and surrounding areas are fantastic, and to be fair, the apartment is nice to spend time in. However, if you feel the price is a bit high for you, then avoid it. The issues we had will leave a bitter taste in your mouth and feeling that you didn't get value for money. Nonetheless, the issues are easy to fix and I hope Damien and Donna do take action.
