Cooksville Farmhouse Inn is a "family friendly rural retreat in the Town that Time Forgot." Enjoy a large stone fireplace as well as a woodstove, a fully equipped kitchen for guests' use, a fenced in yard, large patio and party barn in the country.
Cooksville Farmhouse Inn is located in Southern Wisconsin, 25 minutes from Madison and 2 hours from Chicago. The 10 room farmhouse, originally built in the 1850’s, is on the National Register of Historic Places along with most of the entire village. Cooksville is a small, rural community of 35 houses that has a rich history. It is surrounded by rolling farmland and located on the Badfish Creek. Much of the nearly land was once owned by famous statesman Daniel Webster. The farmhouse is set within a lovely ten-acre restored prairie crisscrossed by paths for walks beside the spring-fed spring in the summer and snow shoeing in the winter. Discover 4 handmade bridges over the stream at various points. Look for wildlife such as hawks, cranes, geese, snakes (harmless), foxes, raccoons, opossum, deer, rabbits. The prairie is fringed by pastures that house our mules. Enjoy the quiet, rustic, family-friendly atmosphere of the farmhouse which has a soapstone wood stove and massive free standing fireplace to keep guests cozy when the snow flies, a large deck and stone patio area with sheltered table and chairs for barbecues and outdoor meals in warm weather, as well as great views of the prairie and sunsets. There is an English barn on the property available for parties, receptions, etc.

We are a retired couple living in Cooksville, Wisconsin on 10 acres. We have a large garden every summer, 2 mules and about 25 chickens. We enjoy visits from our children (4) and grandchildren (6+) and keep busy with church and community activities.
We make it a point to meet our guests on arrival, but intentionally stay out of their way unless they want to interact with us. Our goal is to be accessible but non-intrusive.
