I fell in love the moment I stepped foot in this 20th-century classic and love to watch guests do the same. Its spaciousness & light, hardwood floors & modern kitchen nurture me and complement my collections of art and midcentury furnishings. Unbeatable location. Easy parking. 'Great vibe' said a guest. No big cleaning fee!
Open layout and sofas allow genial gathering and layout ensures privacy in back bedroom. Sleeps 5 easy, 8 ok.

I love to share the home I have created amidst the art I have collected locally and in my travels and the furnishings that my grandparents acquired from furniture-maker friends in mid-century Montreal. I grew up in the French Canadian city eating poutine before it was cool and skiing in the Laurentians while they were still cold.
I love being surrounded by wood - the hardwood floors, the polished grain of teak furniture and the tall abstract sculpture of a woman and a child (I think :)) crafted by my beloved friend in the 1950s in San Francisco. The wood grain glows shades of brown with the morning sun and, in the afternoon light, leaves the apartment feeling calm - the perfect time for a cup of tea or glass of wine, both of which I have left for you. I'm convinced it is the connection with nature that allows both me and my guests to relax as soon as we enter the apartment. Truly. I love welcoming people in and sharing the moment their expression softens as they see where they will be staying.
The space is large and airy. It is an Edwardian with French doors between the living room and second bedroom. Brand-new kitchen. Easy parking. Laundry room. Backyard. Lots of light. Alarm. Wifi. I love my neighbors and we keep the building and backyard very quiet. Please only choose my place, if you enjoy serenity. (It's not monk-like. Just no loud music.)
There is a bedroom in the back of the apartment next to the bathroom. It is separated from the rest of the apartment by a hallway with a door. The second bedroom - the one in which I sleep when I am not Airbnbing (daybed with comfy mattress) is next to the kitchen and separated from the living room by French doors. It was technically the dining room at some point. I eat in the small, newly renovated kitchen, but I have a dining room table in the 'daybed room,' so it works very well for a dining area if you want to use it that way.
The back bedroom has a queen bed (a sleep number, so you can adjust to your comfort). I just bought a new, comfortable sofa bed with a memory foam topper for the living room. There are two more couches in the living room, so people can hang out and enjoy each other comfortably. There is a third room separated from the living room by French doors. That room has a single bed and room for my queen-size top-of-the-line Aerobed.
My neighbors are awesome and, in a pinch, my upstairs neighbor is there to help. I appreciate your keeping my neighbors in mind. Sound travels easily up into the other apartments. No loud music please. (One Airbnber had a party here even though my listing prohibits it, so now I mention it here, as well.

Wifi. Laundry. New Kitchen. Full apartment to yourself. Sunny outdoor space. Apples in tree out back, when nature provides. There's a vegetable garden that is not mine, so I can't offer access to its delights, but you can enjoy its presence. Street parking is easy.

I am generally available by phone and text to help you with anything and everything. If I don't respond to a text within 10 minutes, I probably didn't hear it, so please give me a call, if you need a quick response. In the unusual event that I'm out of cell range, I have someone cover for me, so you should be able to get quick responses to any of your questions. I would like for you to have whatever you need and be as happy and comfortable as possible, so please don't hesitate to ask.
The street is residential and tree-lined, with a pleasant 8-10 minute walk to Rockridge cafes and shops. It's a little over a mile straight shot along Telegraph to UC Berkeley and just under a 15 minute, very pleasant walk to BART. Enjoy!
Please use coasters on all wood surfaces. That's really my biggest thing- keeping the furniture in good condition.
Please be sure to use the alarm.
Enjoy yourself and, of course, no loud noise, especially after 10. I love my neighbors and don't want them to be disturbed.
