À propos de ce logement
**Only available April 2017** Room available in a peaceful, fully-equipped downtown Kingston apartment with: fast, reliable wifi, a secure building, fully equipped kitchen and lots of fridge space, 10 minute walk to Queen's campus, small grocery store across the street and last but not least- mature, courteous sharers of the common space!
Apartment is quiet as it's rear facing (with a view of backyards and green grass) yet downtown and really well-located with almost a dozen restaurants, a grocery store and a park within a 5 minute walk. Shared with with fantastic people; Jude, a young English researcher working at Queens in Biology for the summer, Eddy, a supply teacher getting back in the teaching game here after teaching in Japan for 6 years and, myself, a local entrepreneur. I can say that we are all conscientious, clean and friendly but also easy going and respectful of each other's privacy and autonomy.
It's a multi floor apartment and you would be on an upper floor with only one other person and a bathroom on that floor.
I rented this entire apartment myself since it was what I was looking for and now am filling the other rooms.
The price listed is WAY BELOW cost (the total expense of the apartment divided by number of bedrooms) as I was late listing the rooms. Price includes utilities, internet and a 3-times monthly cleaner of common rooms and bathrooms.
-high speed wifi with unlimited bandwidth
-locked bedroom door (for extra peace of mind)
-fully equipped kitchen with 2 fridges, lots of cupboard space and tons of utensils (hand blender, popcorn popper, rice cooker etc) and lots of spices you are welcome to
-laundry (in the greater building. $2 wash $1 dry)
-access to shared bicycle

I'm very happy to chat and help you when we bump in to each other around the house or through text message or airbnb messages. Note: I don't check or respond to messages constantly. Daily interaction is not guaranteed (I'm only committed to offering the accommodation itself)
I am the tenant of this apartment (I rented the whole 6-bedroom apartment). I'm not the owner of the building. for those renting summer when it isn't a student rental note: It is just our apartment quite simply and not a hotel or guest house or hostel. So, it should just be thought of as a guest or traveler staying in our apartment. For example, we don't necessarily clean the bathrooms for every guest, especially for just a one or two-day stay. We have a house cleaner who comes once a week.
It isn't really for profit but more so to fill the rooms. It is generally long-term students we seek as roommates (4 months minimum) but there are no students and no demand for long-term in the summer so we rent it out short term. During the period of January to April it may also be available weekly but not nightly.
To maintain a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere...
Courtesy and good manners are expected between all.
Expressions of personal prejudices based on gender, class, race, religion or sexual orientation are not welcome.
Do dishes and clean up after yourself in a timely manner (wiping counter, table etc). If you're here for several days, consider sweeping the kitchen floor now and then or changing the garbage bag. If we all do a bit, it works out. Keep in mind, this is an apartment share and our occasional house cleaner doesn't do this kind of daily stuff.
Guests (guests of guests)
Unless you've rented for long term, no guests/friends after 10 pm without permission.
Noise: Feel free to play music now and then but no constant-music bedrooms (use headphones :) )
No music or loud discussions from bedrooms after 9 pm. (a bit of exception on Friday and Saturday nights)
Everyone is free and encouraged to ask for quiet from each other ei. quiet has priority. (this is very rarely needed as everyone is respectful)
Lock door every time you enter and exit (even if someone is in the kitchen or living room)
