À propos de ce logement
Located in the heart of Midtown Memphis, you'll find this quiet cottage to be just minutes from all the best Memphis has to offer!
I believe in inclusiveness, and that means I don't discriminate based on color, religion, gender self-identity or preference, or much of anything else - period.
The Cottage is a detached, cozy one bedroom with bathroom, kitchen, breakfast nook and living room area. Originally built as a workshop and carport in 1922, the workshop, (with original heart pine floor) is now your bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed, which because the original floor and moulding were kept, still has the flavor of the 1920’s. In the living room (the part of the cottage that was the carport area until around the 1960s when it was enclosed) there is a full size futon couch, which when folded down, can sleep an additional person. Please note, this is a futon bed and like most futon beds or sofa couches, is best for children or smaller adults - while it serves its purpose, it is not a regular bed. There is a nice sized flat screen with lots of channels to watch, free Wi-Fi, a security alarm system, and a full kitchen, including a coffee maker and complimentary coffee and tea. On the dining table you'll find a bowl with snacks, and a manual for the cottage. Filtered water is available at the cold tap in the kitchen sink, and I leave a couple of bottles of water in the refrigerator.
NOTE: If you are allergic to things like fabric softener, air fresher, etc., please let me know so I can make accommodations for you.
Please be sure, when making the reservation, to correctly indicate the number of guests coming, and in your message, please indicate if you will be using the futon couch for sleeping.
Accès des voyageurs
I've added a coded entry system to the cottage, so access is easy pretty much 24/7. Prior to your arrival, I will send you your personalized access code. Just so you know, when I enter each new guests code, the previous guest's code is erased, so the only people with access to the cottage is you, and of course, I.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
As noted, the accommodations are detached from the front house, and with a coded entry system, we may or may not see one another at check-in. If we don't see one another at check-in, feel free to let me know if you need anything. I’ll leave the amount of interaction you desire totally up to you.
I am trying to make a collage, or "map" of where my guests come from, and I'd really appreciate it if you could bring a postcard from home, and please sign the Guest Board - thanks!
We have a friendly small dog who you may or may not encounter during your stay. If you pet her, you will be friends for life :).
Please, no smoking or pets in the guest house. If you do smoke outside, we just ask that you clean up afterwards.
If you're coming to Memphis to have a good time we ask that you keep any late-night returns as quiet as you can.
Number of guests - when you reserve the cottage you specify the number of guests, and this is the number, up to three (3), that we are agreeing on, no more.
The kitchen is provided for your use; but after use, please clean-up spills, counters, appliances and dishes.
A recognizable, full face picture of you on your profile is necessary. Any booking completed without this, will immediately be cancelled.
Please take care with make-up and skin treatments, also with hair bonnets worn at night. Some make-up and/or skin treatment medications stain and/or bleach out colored or white lines and towels. Some hair bonnets are not color fast and will stain pillow cases and sheets. If I find this after your stay, you will be charged for the cost of replacement of the sheet(s), pillow case(s) and/or towel (s).
Be absolutely sure you let me know if you will be using the futon couch for sleeping. There are no sheets, etc., left for the futon unless I am told in advance you will be using it.
I am unable to allow minor children, friends or relatives to stay in the cottage without supervision. If you have any questions concerning this policy, please contact me prior to making a reservation.
Si vous annulez jusqu'à 5 jours avant votre voyage, vous recevez un remboursement intégral, frais de service compris.
I'm happily retired, and enjoying my life tremendously. I'm an easy going, happy type of person who smiles and laughs easily, especially at myself :D. Born and raised in California, I went into the Army during the Vietnam war, and ended up making a career out of the service.
After retiring from the Army, I worked various jobs from managing insurance brokers to running assisted care communities, and am now peacefully retired, and as busy, it seems, as I ever was. Well okay, not maybe as busy as when I was working, but as busy as I want to be ;-).
Having traveled the world over several times, I found Airbnb to be exactly what I always wished I could have found for accommodations, and decided to become a host myself.
Besides beginning this adventure with Airbnb, I spend time working on this old house, renovating it, and working in the yard and my workshop, and writing a book.
You'll find I am ready and willing to help you with recommendations on where to go, what to see, where to eat, and so forth and so on. I'm also quite happy to let you do your own thing... whatever you want or need, just give me a shout!
