Cozy studio near beaches, Mission Bay and Pacific Beach shops, and restaurants. Miles of walking and biking paths skirt the water; recreational opportunities abound. Close proximity to UCSD makes this an ideal place for visiting professionals.
In addition to the queen-sized murphy bed, the sofa folds flat to make a comfortable bed for a child or other guest.
The kitchen nook includes cupboard space, a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, hot plate, and small refrigerator. There are dishes, utensils, cooking things, dish towels, salt/pepper, coffee, tea, sugar and creamer, and cleaning supplies. A hair dryer, iron, and ironing board are in the walk-in closet and ready for your use.
Towels, including beach towels, blankets, and bed linens are provided. Bi-weekly professional cleaning is included for monthly guests.
If there is anything else you need, I probably can provide it. Just ask.

A section of the yard behind the unit has a table, chairs, and gas grill for your use. You may use the lounge chairs on the brick patio. There is a hose nearby for washing off sandy feet and a place to hang damp swimsuits and beach towels.
This is a very quiet, safe neighborhood. I have motion-sensor lights at the alley entrance and along the front and side of my house. There is a security system in the main house.

Someone will be here to greet you when you arrive. I'm often at home and will be here to answer questions and help you feel comfortable. Herbs and seasonal veggies are available in the garden, and I often bake and share cookies.
Depending on timing and weather conditions, we may be able to take you kayaking.
"Mr. Wiggles" (a 14-pound, adorable rat terrier), is here early in the morning 4:30-7:00, most afternoons from 2-6:00, and all night on Saturday. He stays inside the main house and won't be in the studio at all. Two of the neighbors' cats (Princess and Charlie) prowl around at night and enjoy sleeping under bushes during the day sometimes. They are very aloof and won't enter the unit.
We have beach cruisers you may borrow, as well as boogie boards, beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach towels.
Ask about special rates for stays longer than 2 months.
We want you to relax and enjoy yourself, but this is not a party house. The neighborhood is very quiet, and I know you will respect that. There are lots of party opportunities just a short walk away on Garnet Avenue.
If you need to smoke, let me know and I will provide an ashtray for outside use. No smoking in the house, please.
I hope you enjoy the furnishings and treat them with care. Let me know right away if you have a disaster (wine spilled on the rug, plugged drain, something doesn't work). If you have time, please wash and put away the dishes you have used. Thank you!!
I am a retired teacher who has lived in Pacific Beach almost continuously since 1953. I love gardening, cooking (home-grown herbs and vegetables), kayaking, reading, and just relaxing at home in the yard. I'm also a regular volunteer at the Tecolote Nature Center. My favorite vacation destination is Alaska--four visits so far and never on a cruise. I have a grown daughter, Amy. See us together toasting each other at the Salty Dog Saloon in Homer, AK! My motto: Life is short, so enjoy each day to the fullest!
I'm home a lot and will be here to help you feel comfortable and enjoy your stay. People rave about my cooking, and I may share some goodies with you!
