If you are looking for somewhere to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life then this is the house for you. It is perfect place to relax, unwind and explore the local French countryside.

La Marchandieré was originally built in the mid 18th century and has been modernised tastefully to ensure, where possible, that the original character has been preserved. It has all modern conveniences such as fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, Wi-Fi, Satellite TV, Blu-Ray Disc/DVD Player & Wood burning fire.

The house is ideally situated to visit all the local attractions in the departments of Mayenne and Sarthe. The historical cities of Le Mans (Cité Plantagenet), the Roman settlements at Jublains, and the picturesque city of Laval are all within easy reach. For those interested in visiting the Normandy landing beaches and War Cemeteries a day trip is very manageable. It is also possible to visit Bayeaux where the ‘Bayeaux Tapestry’ is located.
For those interested in Formula 1 Racing you have the Le Mans circuit with the classic 24 Hour race in June each year.

Guests will be entirely responsible for looking after themselves during their stay.
The owners live in a property nearby and can deal with any problems that may arise promptly.

There is a Tabac / Restaurant located in the local village of La Chapelle-au-Riboul. There is also a small shop that sells Fresh Bread, basic groceries, etc.. Champgenéteux & Bais also have shops. There are large Hyper Markets & Supermarkets located in Mayenne.
There is an excellent equestrian centre located (approx. 5 Mins walk from the house).
GPS: latitude , longitude - – ‘Centre Equestre’. There is a walk-way (converted railway line) access is restricted to only cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders - ‘Itinéraire Mayenne – Javron – Les Chapelles’ (Les anciennes voies ferrées de la Mayenne) that goes from Mayenne to Javron.
The house is close to the historic Roman town of Jublains (15 Mins), Le Mans – Formula 1 racing track and Plantagenet City (Cité Plantagenet) (40 Mins), Mayenne (10 Mins), Evron (15 Mins), Bais (10 Mins), Fontaine Daniel – Toiles de Mayenne {Founded 1806} (15 Mins), Lassay les Chateaux (20 Mins), Bagnoles de L’Orne (30 Mins), Sillé le Guillaume (20 Mins) & Sillé Plage - Swimming, Boating & Walking.

There are swimming facilities in the local area, from a heated swimming pool at St. Suzanne (20 Mins drive away) to a sandy beach area with swimming in the lake at Sillé Plage – Le Grand E’tang (15-20 Mins drive away).

A Motor Car, Motor Bike, or Bicycle would be essential as the property is located in the countryside.

Access arrangements: in order to facilitate the possibility of the late arrival of patrons at the house, the entrance gate has a combination lock,the house keys will be available in a wall mounted combination ‘Security Safe’. The precise location of the safe will be provided once the booking has been confirmed. The electronic code numbers will also be provided for both the gate and the safe prior to your arrival. The safe can be used to store the keys during your stay facilitating other members of the party to come and go at will and everyone still be able to access the keys to the house. At the end of your stay the keys should be deposited in this safe prior to your departure. The access code is only valid for the duration of your stay and is changed after your departure.

The property is a strictly "NO SMOKING" area.
"NO PETS" are allowed.
All Guests are expected to respect the property and it's contents and behave in an orderly manner.
Any breakages should be notified to the host and the items in question should be replaced by similar quality items where available otherwise the host will advise guests of the cost of replacement.

A very well equipped cottage in a tranquil location. As a couple with four young children the accommodation met our requirements perfectly. Matthew couldn't have taken more trouble in providing information about the house, traveling and local attractions. We used the local equestrian centre and the children just loved all the things to do at Sillé-le-Guillaume. Thoroughly recommended.
