Meadowside is a pretty, bright, 2 bedroomed cottage standing in its own garden & surrounded by fields in gorgeous Cumbria. On the edge of the beautiful Lake District, it has stunning views of the Pennines, Eden valley & Scotland. A home from home.
Pretty, sunny, cosy, two bedroom single story cottage, near Caldbeck. As the name suggests it's next to meadows, close to farm land and has stunning views of the Pennines and Scotland. A lovely rural retreat in magnificent Cumbrian countryside. It has two bedrooms, bedroom one has a double bed and bedroom two has twin beds. The cottage sleeps 4 but guests may like to take their own air bed or travel cot to accommodate an extra child if needed at no extra charge.
Sit back and relax in the bright sunny sitting room where there's a lovely open fire for cosy nights in, other heating is by electric storage & convenient on demand electric panel heaters and water is heated by emersion heater on timer switch.
The well equipped kitchen has a dining table for family meals and entertaining, electric cooker, fridge/feezer and microwave. There's a house bathroom with convenient electric shower over the bath.
Relax in the garden where there's outdoor seating for guests to enjoy the South facing garden, which is fenced and enclosed.
Situated down a private farm lane, this is a wonderful Cumbrian property, perfect for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and anyone who just fancies a little peace and quite. Lots of activities within half an hour; stunning Solway coast and beach, Ullswater, Bassenthwaite Lake, Keswick, Carlisle & Penrith and easy access to Scotland or the Roman wall.
Note: Minimum stay is two nights. Our guests are invited to make themselves at home, it's a home away from home.

Guests have full use of the cottage and fenced garden, there's a flat screen TV, radio and CD player, games and books. There’s off road parking for 2 cars opposite the house and a car is recommended as there's no regular bus service. The nearest railway station is Carlisle approx. 9 miles, Dalston approx. 4 miles or Penrith approx. 10 miles.
Guest should note that there are two small steps into the single story cottage, otherwise it's all on one level.

Most of the pillows and duvets are plump feather/down. Bedding and towels are included in the price.
If you're considering ordering some shopping online before your stay then Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda all deliver to the area. Otherwise there's a Coop shop in Dalston (approx. 4 miles) or local village stores in Caldbeck and Hesket New Market.
There's no wifi at the house, it's mobile wifi only and that can be very patchy.
There's a secure lock up for bikes in the garden shed.

Arrival after 4pm on the day of your arrival, unless otherwise agreed in advance. Departure by 10am on the morning of your departure.
Parking and access. There's parking for two cars opposite the cottage and guests should note that there's no access beyond the cottage - the farm further down the drive belongs to someone else and we only have right of access as far as Meadowside, please don't drive beyond the cottage.
We ask that you leave the cottage in a clean and tidy condition. If you break anything then we'll ask you to replace it like for like.
Please don't smoke in the house.
One well behaved dog may be accepted by special arrangement.
