Échanges avec les voyageurs
Our family occupies the main farm house which is across a courtyard from the cottage. Although the cottage is designed to give complete privacy, we are on hand if you need us for help or information.
We are normally there to greet you and to wave goodbye and often we will have a get-together for aperitifs or a chat as you come and go.
Les Trois Chênes is built from the stone of the meteorite that fell in this area long ago. It shaped the geography of the land and the character of the buildings making this area unique.
Other fantastic things to do here are fishing, shopping for the famous Limoges porcelain, and tasting the local dishes. Chestnuts used to be a staple food of Limousin and still feature strongly as does pork and, of course, the world-famous Limousin beef. You'll see the Limousin cattle, knee high in flowers and grass, in the fields surrounding Videix.
We are family friendly and welcome children and babies. Our guests have always been courteous and pleasant. We ask them to take care of our lovely cottage and gardens and to be mindful of others. Our family, friends and guests love the peace and tranquility here.
We don't normally allow pets.
Smokers are welcome to smoke outside and we do ask that they consider future guests by not smoking in the cottage.
If you wish to add additional guests to your party after booking you must have permission. The gite has a maximum of 7 adults although babies or toddlers are accepted above this number.
We love to travel - Myself and my husband Rod and our three children - Louis, Daniel and Sasha- have spent most of our lives in Zambia, where we owned and ran a small camp in the North Luangwa National Park . We lived in reed huts alongside elephants hyenas and lions - a wonderful childhood for the children. I ran the camp kitchen and have always loved to cook - I did a Ballymaloe cooking course in Ireland and have been cooking ever since. In ski chalets, hunting lodges in Scotland and safari camps in Zambia. The nice thing about cooking is you get to travel too! We are now in the Limousin and are loving it!
