I would like to start by saying that all Jessica Cox (false name) wrote is a pure lie and pure manipulation.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND JESSICA COX TO ANYBODY HOSTING ON AIRBNB. I HAVE BEEN WITH AIRBNB SINCE THE BEGINNING AND I NEVER DEALT WITH A HIGH MAINTENANCE, MEAN, LYING, CONTROLLING, MANIPULATIVE AND FRAUDULENT GUEST .
SHE DISEMBARKS HER FLIGHT FROM DUBAI AT 830 AM AND EXPECTS TO CHECK IN RIGHT AWAY WHILE I HAD A GUEST CHECKING OUT AT 11 am AND A CLEANING LADY COMING IN AT 12 noon TO CLEAN. CHECK IN IS AT 3pm BUT SHE DECIDES TO WRITE IN THIS REVIEW THAT SHE WAITED 6 hours to check in in the the apartment . FALSE. AS I WENT TO A HOT SPOT ON THE DIRT ROAD TO CHECK MY DAILY MESSAGES I SEE THAT I HAVE A NEW GUEST THAT BOOKED ON INSTA BOOK. JESSICA COX.
I AM IN CANADA RECOVERING AT MY FATHERS LAKE HOUSE AND RESTING WITH VERY LIMITED ACCESS TO INTERNET , WiFi or phone service. BUT I KNOW MY RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK MESSAGES OFTEN NOT TO MISS OUT ON GUESTS that is INSTABOOK ESPECIALLY, AS I WENT TO CHECK TWICE A DAY FOR AIRBNB INSTABOOKINGS OR MESSAGES.
I FIRST SPEAK TO A CASE MANAGER TRISH AT 2:21 pm EXACTLY AND SHE WAS HAPPY AND RELIEVED TO FIND ME AND TO SPEAK TO ME BEFORE SHE WAS ABOUT TO CANCEL AND INGETTING A PENALTY . I WAS HAPPY TO HOST JESSICA AND TO ANSWER ALL HER QUESTIONS AND BELIEVE ME. SHE EAS VEY PICKYVAJZ HIGH MAINTENANCE . FIRST SHE GOES TO ATELIER COLOGNE (WHERE MY GUESTS PICK UP THE KEY) AND SHE STARTS HARASSING THE STAFF FOR THE APARTMENT-NUMBER. (It’s written very clearly in my instruction book not to ask anything but the key to the employees at atelier cologne. THEY DO NOT WORK FOR ME. THEY ARE JUST HOLDING THE KEYS FOR CHECK INS AND HELOING ME OUT. I THEN RECEIVE A MESSAGE FROM THE BOUTIQUE THAT THERES THIS GIRL THAT IS HARASSING THEM AND ASKING ME IF THEY SHOULD GIVE THE KEYS TO HER OR NOT. UNFORTUNATELY I WAS OFFLINE AND DIDNT GET A CHANCE TO CHECK THE SITUATION. SHE SNEAKED IN MY APARTMENT BEFORE CHECK IN TIME BY LOOKING AT MAIL BOXES. MY CLEANING LADY WAS FINISHING UP AND SHE WAS VERY SURPRISED TO SEE A GUEST COME IN EARLY WITHOUT NOTICE. I ALSO RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM DIANA MY CLEANING LADY THAT THERE WAS A GUEST THAT SEEMED SUSPICIOUS AND CHECKED IN EARLY (contrary to what she says). I THEN TRIED TO CALL JESSICA AND EXPLAIN TO HER THAT WHAT SHE DID WAS WRONG AND AGAINST MY RULES. SHE APOLOGIZED AND MANIPULATED THIS ANSWER BACK. SHE EVEN HAD THE DECENCY TO SAY THAT THERE WAS DUST ON THE KITCHEN ISLAND AND THEN ADMITTED THAT : “oh it was probably my Bag that had dust and I didn’t realize it was my fault” “sorry Mathilde “
I KNOW MY CLEANING LADY. SHE IS THE BEST. SHE IS A PERFECTIONIST LIKE ME AND SHE HAS BEEN WORKING 10 years WITH ME SO I KNEW THAT JESSICA WAS AGAIN LYING.
SECOND DAY SHE WRITES AND ASKS IF SHE CAN STAY LONGER BECAUSE SHE LOVES THE APARTMENT SO MUCH. SHE FINDS IT COZY ANS PRIVATE. . I EXPLAINED THAT I COULDN’T BECAUSE I HAD ANOTHER BOOKING WITH A EUROPEAN CHAP THAT COMES BACK EVERY YEAR AND LOVES TO STAY AT MY PLACE. SHE BOOKED MY CLEANING LADY AND UNBOOKED HER THE SAME DAY (which is super unprofessional.. you must call 24 h prior to cancel. THAT ISNT FAIR FOR A HARD WORKING WOMAN LIKE DIANA I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS GUEST ALREADY.
THEN SHE STARTS TO ASK ME QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SECURITY DEPOSIT ANS IF SHE WILL GET IT BACK AT THE END OF HER STAY. I TOLD HER THAT THE SECURITY DEPOSIT ISNT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE YOU PAY UPFRONT WHEN YOU BOOK. THE SECURITY DEPOSIT IS USED ONLY IF I MAKE A CLAIM FOR DAMAGE, THEFT, OR BROKEN ITEMS IN THE APARTMENT. I HAVE ALL THE WHATS APP MESSAGES, iMessages, AND AIRBNB MESSAGES THREADS TO PROOVE THE BACK AND FORTH DISCUSSIONS WE HAVE ABOUT THE SECURITY DEPOSIT AND THE FACT THAT SHE SANTED IT BACK.
THATS WHEN I FELT A WEIRD FEELING AND MY INTUITION TOLD ME SHE WAS FRAUD AND SHE WANTED MORE MONEY THAN SHE ACTUALLY PAID.
I MEAN.. COMMON. LETS BE HONEST.. MY APARTMENT IS IN THE BEST LOCATION IN THE CITY (as she mentions at the very end of her terrible review ) : NOLITA/SOHO. SO IF YOU DO THE MATH THE WAY SHE DID , SHE WOULD BE PAYING LESS THAN 100$ per NIGHT INSTEAD OF 200$ THAT I CHARGE. AND THATS A DEAL CAUSE MY PRICE IS USUALLY 250$/NIGHT ...
I HAD TOLD SINCE THE BEGINNIHG OF HER RESERVATION THAT MY CLEANING LADY WOULD COME EARLY BECAUSE THAT WAS HER ONLY TIME ALOT AS IT WAS HER WEDDING THE NEXT DAY.
SHE SAID “no problem” I LET HER LEAVE HET BAGS UNTIL SHE NEEDED BUT SHE MENTIONS IN HER REVIEW TJAT SHE WAS ENERVED ANS ANNOYED THAT IT WAS AT 10 am instead of 11 am, EVEN THOUGH I HAD WARNED HER. WOW. SUOER HEAVY I KNOW BUT THATS HOE IT FELT.
SHE THEN HARASSED ME WITH MESSAGES , LIED THAT SHE WAS IN A MEETING ANS SHE COULDNT SPEAK BUT EVERY TIME I CALL LINE WAS BUSY ON WNATS APP. LIES. AFTER LIES.
I WAS TRYING TO SPEAK TO HER AND SHE WAS HANGING UP AND IGNORING ME WANTING TO COMMUNICATE WITH MY GUEST ABOUT HER WORRIES.
SHE MANIPULATED AIRBNB’s case managers and got her way.
Unfortunately Airbnb decided to keep the review there stating they were no problems or direct insult so not against their policies so they had to keep it there and accept the 2 stars she gave me after begging me to stay longer cause it wasn’t the best, coolest, quiet apartment that she wanted for a whole month.
She then accused me of fraud. Harassed and threatened to call her lawyer to speak to my landlord and rat on me for being on Airbnb and sending all sorts of very dry , manipulative, ugly comments.
I have to say. I am very disappointed in Airbnb for not seeing through this and takinybyhe right side. They decide to trust her word over mine.
Read it clearly in my notes in instructions and description: “there will be a 2000$ security deposit held by Airbnb if there is a claim from host for damage , theft or....
and she thought she was paying 59$ for an amazing super chill cozy big studio apartment in nolita. I mean really?
Finally. I wouldn’t recommend this guest at all as it was a very complicated Reservation and I don’t like to work this way and deal with lies, manipulation, threats and harassment.
