Come live in Portland. Beautiful and inviting home with great finishings. Pacific Northwest style meets international globe trotter. Kid friendly. Two bedroom, one bath, plus loft; various sleeping arrangements available. Two blocks from Irving Park and a quick walk to N Williams, Mississippi or Alberta. Includes fish and indoor/outdoor cat.

Le logement

Open flow living and dining rooms with modern furniture. Custom woodwork sets this home apart, with beautiful Douglas Fir cabinetry throughout. Backyard is great for dining al fresco or enjoying a camp fire. Harvesting the garden and herbs is welcome. One friendly cat, Jasmine, and an aquarium of fish (and a snail on a whale) will be your only housemates.

Accès des voyageurs

Either the entire house or a room is available, depending on the listing. There are two bedrooms on the main level. The master bedroom has a king and access to the loft space on the upper bonus level. The guest bedroom has a queen, reading chair, desk and chair, and luggage rack. The upper loft runs the entire length of the house and is accessed through the master bedroom, which is off the dining room and looks into the back yard. An upper "loft" space is accessed through the master bedroom, in what we call the "Narnia door" from the built in closet. Steep stairs require careful attention for both adults and kids. No socks allowed. This space runs the distance from front to back of the house, with windows on both ends, three skylights, and a new queen bed in a little nook at the front side of the house. The height is around 6' in the middle and slopes quickly. There are 2 toddler beds and 2 pack n' play are available. This is essentially a massive play space. Feel free to have your kids enjoy the space and supervise as necessary, including use of the safety gate.

The basement includes a brand new high end washer and dryer. Otherwise the basement is large but not yet finished.

Given the access through the bedroom to the loft, it means either a family or a group of friends who are fine to have closer quarters. An air mattress is also available and the couch is very comfortable and is exactly two twin sized bed sizes in an L (sheets are available). So there are plenty of bed options, but less privacy for a larger group.

Great for families with kids!

Miel's place was fantastic-- five of us (including two small kids) stayed for most of a week, and the place was absolutely perfect. Great location for us, and terrific, kid-friendly spaces to play and sleep. Our 4-year old loved the upstairs play area, which had tons of toys, books, and a great place to sleep. The rest of the space was great, too, with everything we could need in the kitchen, and great dining and living room areas. Street parking was very easy (and free). Miel and Adam were super communicative and accommodating, and helped make the whole trip feel very easy (not always a given with kids in tow). Would recommend highly!

The stay was good and Miel was very accommodating with check-in/out. It happened to be a hot weekend in PDX so it was a bit warm in the house. Location is great and we had everything we needed! Jasmine was also super sweet!

We had a wonderful time staying Alanna (Miel)'s place. The house was spacious and comfortable and located conveniently to use as a home base for exploring Portland. Plus the cat, Jasmine, was very cute and friendly! We would definitely recommend staying here.

This place is great! Comfy and cozy and fairly priced. Awesome kitchen, living room and backyard! (Note that to get to The attic room you have to go through one of the other bedrooms so there is really only 1 private room if you want to use the attic as well. But still really nice!)

Great place to stay in NE Portland. There was plenty of parking around the area and close to restaurants and shops. Very easy check-in and great communication.

Terrific house in a great neighborhood. The host was accessible and accommodating -- we had everything we needed. It was nice to have a quiet home base from which to explore Portkand. The loft area was fabulous for our kids. Highly recommended!
