My quiet 2 BR is on E. 10th St. near Tompkins Sq. Park - the heart of NYC's hippest neighborhood - full of music, bars & restaurants & close to the subway for touristing.

Artists/Educators & Long-Term Renters Welcome! LGBTQ-Friendly!

Le logement
Hello! I'm looking for quiet and mindful guests who will respect my apartment and my neighbors. My place is below the average rent for the hugely popular/expensive East Village because I want humane people to be able to afford it, especially sister and fellow artists and educators and folks who care about social justice. I am on one of its best blocks in the East Village: E. 10th Street btw Ave A and 1st Ave, 15 SECONDS from Tompkins Square Park. It's a wonderful location because it's a very quiet building right in the middle of all the East Village, NYC action. Freshly painted, full apartment to yourself. Send me a note! :-)

**If you are interested, PLEASE send me information about yourselves!**

**THE SHORT AD**

MY PLACE IS IN THE EAST VILLAGE, THE HIPPEST, MOST HAPPENING, POPULAR AND HUMANE NEIGHBORHOOD IN NYC - LOOK IT UP! :-) IT'S ALSO THE APARTMENT I ACTUALLY LIVE IN, NOT AN UNRELIABLE CORPORATE LANDLORD YOU'VE READ ABOUT ON THE WEBSITE AIRBNBHELL, WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE COMING TO NYC BECAUSE OF ALL THE SCAMS ON AIRBNB! I WILL MAKE SURE YOUR STAY GOES SMOOTHLY AND BE AVAILABLE TO YOU WHEN YOU NEED ME VIA PHONE OR TEXT.

MY APARTMENT IS AN AMAZING PLACE FROM WHICH TO EXPLORE ALL OF NYC AND, EVEN THOUGH IT'S SMACK DAB IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS BUSTLING NEIGHBORHOOD, IT'S LOCATED IN THE BACK OF THE BUILDING AND THE TENANTS AREN'T CRAZY (VERY OFTEN BUILDINGS CAN BE VERY LOUD PARTY BUILDINGS IN NYC), SO IT'S NICE AND QUIET FOR YOUR RETREAT AND REFRESH AFTER A BUSY DAY OR A GREAT SPACE TO GET WRITING OR WORK DONE. I USE IT AS MY HOME/OFFICE.

YES, THERE ARE 2 SEPARATE BEDROOMS :)

IVE GOT VERY FAST *TURBO* WIFI and CABLE TV AND I WILL PAY FOR BOTH DURING YOUR STAY - NO CHARGE. I ALSO WILL PAY FOR GAS & ELECTRIC FOR STAYS LESS THAN 3 WEEKS.

THE WATER IS HOT AND THE PRESSURE IS GREAT, WHICH IS NOT ALWAYS EASY TO FIND IN NEW YORK CITY EITHER!

THERE'S A GOOD LAUNDROMAT RUN BY FRIENDLY LOCALS LITERALLY RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET.

I don't think you will find anything for this price like my apartment in such a prime and amazing - and very fun and hip, musical and artsy - NYC location! (you can do a search :) I like to keep it affordable so I can also accommodate those of us who may not be as wealthy, but who value other things more than making money 24/7 ;)

Longer stays will have preference. as will responsible folks, as will nice folks. :)

I've had many wonderful global travelers stay here - many of whom are now friends - so I'm very happy to meet new cosmos-politans from foreign lands. Everyone has been really, really happy with the apt/area!

I've lived here for 25 years and have loved my warm, creative & quiet 1 or 2 bedroom apartment in an amaaazing location within the center of the Village itself and only a few seconds from the lovely Tompkins Square Park - East 10th Street btw Avenue A and 1st Avenue - in the hippest neighborhood in Manhattan: The East Village. Check it out online. It's where the Broadway hit play and movie "Rent" was inspired and written. It's more gentrified now of course, lol, but still amazingly diverse and fun. And with easy access to all the mainstream tourist hot spots.

If you like to eat, the Village has a fantastic array of restaurants and cafes, within minutes of my door. Here's what New York's largest free weekly, the famous Village Voice, says: "The East Village may be the city's most eclectic and rewarding dining destination, though this aspect of the neighborhood is sometimes eclipsed by its bars and cocktail lounges. You can dine cheap or you can go upscale.."

______________________________________
NOTE TO AIRBNB GUESTS RE REVIEWS & REFERRALS: I am a female social justice attorney and prosocial filmmaker - with an online presence so you can check me out - but I usually use Craigsl8st so I can actually interview guests over Sk8pe, and they me ;). This is so we can get a sense of whether we are a good fit - and that we won't scam each other ;) (there has been plenty of that on Airbnb as well as Craigsl8st) so it's really important to have this option for me to feel safe - and so that is why there are no reviews here.

But Never Fear! :) I DO have lots of happy referrals I can hook you up with if you need them from Australia, the UK, Norway, the US, Switzerland, etc. (including Mayor Bloomberg's Chief of Operations who stayed here while his East Village apartment was being renovated - and liked it so much he wanted his father to stay here later on (I was booked…), and people from all over the world - literally!)

And you can see my personal letters of recommendation and media/film articles on my company website, including letters from federal judges for whom I worked. Australians can contact Aussies in Oz who have stayed here and loved it. I've had quite a few as my business/creative partner is from Townsville and we met in Sydney while I was screening at a film festivals and she was playing cello at the Opera House! ;)

MORE DETAIL

I'm a female civil rights attorney-turned-socially-responsive-filmmaker renting out my apartment in the East Village. I've lived here for 21 years and loved it - great bars, cafes, live music, restaurants, bookstores, karaoke (lol).

The apt is approximately 600 sq. ft., semi-railroad-style, 3-flight walk-up overlooking the backyard w/ LOTS o' trees and light (and squirrels!) out the main bedroom windows.

It's on 10th Street off Avenue A, a tree-lined street with cafes a half block from famous Tompkins Square Park - with everything you need less than a minute from your door!

Exposed brick, hard wood floors, 4 separate rooms - doors separating all rooms including a separate bathroom.

Main bedroom is large (for the east village ;) and light - 2 windows - with trees, birds and squirrels out the windows; queen-sized bed; DVD player and Sony TV mounted on wall.

As you can see, the middle room consists of a full kitchen and little living room area with dining table - I also have plenty of books/cases and CDz in this room, which you are welcome to peruse, but I ask that you take care of them :). There also is a nice, white Ikea 2 seater sofa in there now.

The second, smaller bedroom has a single bed with a loft on top for storing your luggag. There is Plenty of closet space! :) It's got a great, warm vibe as it's got exposed brick and is painted a deep red and it's Super quiet in there.

Bathroom is compact, but gets the job done, with very powerful water pressure, nice hot water, shower, a tub, new toilet and sink/mirror/vanity.

I'll supply fresh sheets, blankets and towels, as well as TP and other basic household supplies. And there's a Laundromat (literally) right across the street.

If you are interested, email me and tell me something about yourself/ves! :)

Im sorry I wont get to respond to everyone, but thanks in advance!

I take pride in taking care of you well while you stay and am available via phone and text for any questions, concerns or just NYC tips for a great time! ~:-)

Funnest, Hippest, Most Creative Neighborhood in NYC! Just search the East Village and Avenue A! ~•:)

Even though it's rockin outside, my apartment is in a quiet building in the back of the building - not on the street - overlooking some trees and the garden, so it's also as quiet outside as NYC goes!

Easy and quick access to all public transport to all over NYC: ie, 10 seconds walk for taxi, 2 minute walk for bus and 5 minute walk for subway!

Hippest, funnest, most musical, most vibrant, most artistic, most diverse culinarily and most human neighborhood in NYC! :-)

Whole apartment. Full Kitchen.

Free Turbo Wifi.

Free Heat & Hot Water.

Free Cable TV.

A NOTE ABOUT MY REVIEWS: I usually rent out my apt via my global network of social activists and artists, so that's why I only have a few Airbnb Reviews/Referrals, but I can hook you up with a reference from almost anywhere in the world! I also like to Sk8pe with first-time renters before making a commitment so we both know we are simpatica/o and can establish some trust. :)

Greetings, Global Travellers! ~:) This is NOT an automated or corporate listing, so I won't cancel on you at the last minute. I don't usually rent out via Airbnb so that's why I only have 3 guest reviews (1 is in the Reference section) but I have a lot of online presence so you can check me out via professional references written by federal judges and business executives for whom I have worked, and I can also hook you up with a reference from almost anywhere in the world! I'm a social justice attorney (on sabbatical) and filmmaker working on developing pro-social movies and music to help change the world for good! I feel the Bern! :) I'm looking for mindful, friendly folks to stay in my apartment in what is called the hippest, artsiest, most humane and diverse and most exciting neighborhood in the Big Apple - the fabulous East Village. I've lived here for over 20 years and it's truly a wonderful location - I couldn't live anywhere else! You can read more in my ad and search the East Village online so you can see for yourself. I live right in the heart of it on East 10th Street between Avenue A and 1st Avenue (the Airbnb map location seems to be consistently inaccurate, btw...), but in the back of the building so it's nice and quiet and not noisy like so many NYC apartments, so you can sleep well at night. I also am blessed with great hot water, heat and shower pressure, which is not always the case in NYC! **Please note that my rates vary according to the Season you are staying and how long you stay - the longer the cheaper - and how many people and bedrooms you will be needing. The RATE CHART in my ad sets it all out clearly, but feel free to email me with any clarifications. I try to keep my place priced on the low end for the (expensive) East Village so artists, educators, non-profit workers and the average hard-working 99er% can afford it! Drop me a line and let's see if we are simpatica/o! :) Bon voyage!
