Le logement

In a private arroyo off the beaten path near Joshua Tree National Park sits a little oasis of comfort and style. Welcome to the Little Ranch of Dreams. Ranchito Sueños is surrounded by hundreds of acres of pristine desert terrain, and its five acre parcel is shielded from the lights of Joshua Tree village by a fault-line cliff which sets the stage for incredible stargazing. Wildlife activity varies from season to season with many native and migrating species alike. On any given day you may see Desert Tortoise, Coyote, Roadrunner and so many varieties of birds, lizards, insects and snakes that it would be impossible to list them all. Just minutes from the Village, or from the north entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, this location is ideal because of its close proximity to local restaurants, shops and galleries and likewise ideal for those seeking peace and quiet because of its secluded isolation.
This place is a big part of our lives and has been for 16 years. The original house was initially just its front half, built as a homesteader cabin in 1958. The back half of the house was added in 1964. We remodeled in 2014, but stayed as close to the original design as possible while updating.
There is a quiet out here at the end of this road, at the end of the power line. We hope that it inspires and comforts you. Price varies depending on dates and number of guests. Please check calendar for exact pricing.

Accès des voyageurs

The cabin has one bedroom, which was recently renovated. There are three trailers on the property that are off limits to guests until we get them all set up just right!

We prefer to give our guests as much privacy as possible. We can be reached at any time through Airbnb's messaging system. The code for our lockbox will be given at check in time (3pm).

This wonderful little house offered the perfect combination of privacy and proximity to the Joshua Tree National Park north entrance and some nice stores and cafes off Highway 62. Clean and comfortable. The hosts responded very quickly to the few small questions we had.

The interior photos of the property are accurate and depict the eclectic decor very well. Its a really cute space inside and a perfectly cozy space for two people. The book collection is fun to browse with lots of different genres to choose from. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom, although very small, had great water pressure in the shower. We never ran out of hot water. The kitchen is fairly well equipped. I was warned that the refrigerator door would not stay closed on its own prior to our arrival (and the owner is getting a replacement) but it was a bit of pain to have prop a chair against it to keep it closed. This might not bother some people but I'm a cook (constantly using the ref) so it was a bummer for me. The place is very close to the entrance of the State Park so the location is quite good if you are going there. Roads into the property are very bumpy so you have to take those very slow. Communication with the owner was good and direction to the property were easy to follow. My one disappointment was the exterior landscaping around the house. I love the desert landscape and to see piles of surplus building materials and abandoned cars and trailers was sad. I appreciated the quirky "junk garden" just outside the front door but the other outdoor areas just made me keep the curtains on the windows closed. Obviously what bugs me, might not bug you but I wanted to be as accurate and fair as possible in my description of my stay. Honestly, the only thing that would keep me from coming back for another stay is the exterior conditions. If that could be remedied I would be back in a heartbeat.

The saddest part about writing this review is that more people will know how awesome Bingo's place is, which will make it harder to book when I go back to Joshua Tree. Bingo's place was great. Everything about it was awesome--from the carefully crafted "junk yard" in the front yard to the guitar and old books inside the house. If you are going to Joshua tree to get away from reality and to feel like you are in the desert, then this is the place for you. I look forward to my next trip down to Joshua Tree. Hopefully, this place doesn't have a waiting list by then.

Bingo's place was perfect to come home to after a long day exploring Joshua Tree National Park. It is not too far from the Park, and it's right next to the fun little Joshua Tree town strip. Bingo's suggestions were awesome. Pie for the People! was delicious and just the meal we were looking for. Be sure to order your pizza at least an hour before you want to eat if you are getting it to go--it's very popular. JT Country Kitchen for breakfast the next day was cute and cozy. I had the best blueberry pancake there. One of the owners said she thinks the world of Bingo and his family, and I can see why. The eclectic decor defines Bingo's property inside and out. The art installations surrounding the house are interesting to look at. The space has character and feels secluded, despite it's close proximity to the town. It's just behind a hill which covers the town lights. The view of the stars is incredible. Bingo's communication and tips could not have been better. His directions to his home are clear and easy to follow. I agree with other reviewers that it's best to find it during the day, and then you should have no problem returning at night. The dirt roads leading up to it are pretty bumpy, so be careful. This home away from home was comfortable, quiet and unique. We had everything we needed. Bingo is an excellent, warm and welcoming host. I would recommend this airbnb!

I am a musician/producer/engineer with a passion for literature and the finer things in life. My wife is a clothing designer and apparel production manager with a passion for Rock & Roll. Our little daughter digs pretty much everything, especially kitties and Don Ho records. As avowed workaholics, this little house in the Mojave is always a welcome escape from traffic, noise and other distractions.
