Our family of four (5 yr and 2 yr old kids), previous Utrecht / Dutch citizens came to visit our old neck of the woods to experience the Utrecht atmosphere again. This home was our base for two weeks visiting from Australia, with regular nights away elsewhere in the country. The host is very easy to communicate with, the place is great, neat, comfortable, well decked out and very conveniently located. We recommend it, but some of the interactions with the neighbours were disappointing. This is a well to do, well educated neighbourhood, similar to what we used to live in in Utrecht for over a decade. It became clear though, that visitors may not so welcome in this street. On day one the downstairs neighbour rang the doorbell to tell us the kids footsteps were too noisy. Her request was to please reign in the kids. Consequently, for two weeks, we continued telling the kids off for walking too much and forbade them to play in the living room to accommodate our downstairs neighbour's peace. Later during our stay she was very friendly and polite and even bought our kids some gifts. On day three a neighbour down the street came to tell us that our two rental bicycles were not welcome next to the other parked bicycles in front of her house. She conveniently suggested to park them in front of another neighbour's house (where she didn't need to see them). That didn't seem right to us. So we parked them in the public bicycle racks across the street instead. On day seven a neighbour from across the street requested us to not park our bikes in the designated public bicycle rack, because "she lives on that side of the street and we don't", it was "her" park and the street is "too congested anyway" We mentioned we were puzzled where to park instead, because our two bicycles were not welcome on our side of the street either. She didn't care how we solve the problem, as long as "her" public park stayed hers. It seems this street doesn't tolerate (temporary) change to this seemingly fragile balance of inner city living. We are university educated, quiet and well behaved Dutch citizens with small kids who know the ways of Holland very well. The hostile attitude of the bicycle parking people in the street seem to confirm they are not happy to have us as visitors in their mids. We wonder how other visitors experience these interactions. In conclusion, the accommodation is great. We have nothing but good to say about the great service the host provides. But be aware if you want to claim a bit of public space by parking a car or bike in the street.

The house is perfect! Best neighbourhood in the city, in a residential area but 2 blocks way from Biltstraat (live atmosphere). Very spacious, clean, 2 big bedrooms, nice Bathroom and all facilities needed for a short or a long period. We stayed for 3 months and the host was super nice allowing us to bring our two dogs. I had a great time in the house and Bas provided all the support we needed during the period. I strongly recommend this place for everybody willing to come to Utrecht / Holland. Cheers Luiz

This place is absolutely amazing. Clean, modern, comfortable. If you want to experience the house life of a real Utrechter/Dutchie this is a very nice neighbourhood and close to city centre. Bas responded fast and was approachable to change check-in times to our convenience.
