À propos de ce logement
This first-floor apartment can accommodate individuals, couples, groups, and families comfortably. Set in a quiet, walkable, diverse neighborhood convenient to all St. Louis has to offer, we provide friendly hosts and an updated space in a historic owner-occupied 2-apartment house. Accessible by foot, bike, car, or transit, we are close to many STL highlights.
Great for long-term or short-term stays.
This is the first floor of an owner-occupied duplex in a quiet residential neighborhood made up of single-family homes, duplexes, apartments, and condos.
It features central heat and air, three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a fully-stocked kitchen that includes a Keurig coffee machine with a selection of free refills.
Accessibility: There are 3 steps up from the sidewalk and another 4-5 steps up the front porch, but the rest of the unit is a single level.
As this is an old house (built approximately 1912), the floors are not particularly thick. We live upstairs with our daughter and you may hear the "pitter-patter" of feet, but we try to keep quiet hours and ask that you do the same.
A washer and dryer are available for your use in the basement. Watch your head on the basement steps.
Free parking on the street. When you park your car, lock the doors, and do not leave belongings out in view -- we consider the neighborhood safe but we do live in the city.
Bedroom 1: one queen bed with firm, memory foam mattress
Bedroom 2: a double bed with firm, memory foam mattress
Bedroom 3: Ikea sofa that converts to a full/queen bed. This room includes a smart TV (and exterior access to the backyard).
Accès des voyageurs
This is a duplex. The unit is a private space -- you will have your own kitchen and a separate entrance, but we do live directly upstairs, and laundry and storage are in the basement. We may be home during the day, or we may be in the yard or basement.
We want you to feel at home, so please feel free to make use of the full space, including the front or back porches, yard, and basement laundry.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We want all our guests to feel comfortable. If you have a question, concern, or special request, please let us know.
Please ask if you need a ride, as we might be able to help, schedule permitting. We will generally assume that guests prefer to keep to themselves barring an indication otherwise, but we also generally love interacting with guests, whether it be as a concierge for your stay, or full-on socializing. Guests have been known to crash our dinner parties, and we don't discourage it.
If you are traveling with small children, we have some supplies (such as a pack-n-play and booster seat) you can use if needed.
Smoking is not permitted indoors. If you want to smoke outside, we will be sure to leave an ashtray on the front or rear porch -- just ask.
Pets are not allowed -- only ADA service animals. Please let us know in advance if you are traveling with a service animal and need additional information or services.
Please do not allow additional people stay with you unless we know up front. Don't bring "the party" home with you. We work during the day, have a toddler, and live in a dense residential neighborhood. Please respect our neighbors and us and be quiet after 9 pm. We will be quiet when we are up in the morning.
Do not download anything illegal.
Do not break any laws, and have fun -- thanks!

We are a young-ish married couple Rich and Emily. Rich is a lawyer and Emily is a digital librarian. We enjoy travel, trivia, coffee, parks, PBS, streaming television, music, and dinner parties. We come to St. Louis by way of Louisville and a bunch of other U.S. towns. We live upstairs with our toddler who enjoys water, stairs, outside, tissues, and her babies (dolls and stuffed animals). We have a growing interest in short road trips.
Our future goal, post-retirement, is to run an inn or two--six months of the year someplace pleasantly warm and six months of the year someplace pleasantly cool.
