The Brambles is a delightful one bedroom cottage available for weekly or short lets throughout the year. It is situated on our working dairy farm surrounded by stunning countryside, 5 miles from Weymouth and a short distance from the Dorset Coast.
Situated on our working farm The Brambles is a delightful, recently renovated one bedroom cottage ideal for couples wanting a peaceful, rural break. A short walk from the cottage you will see the stunning Chesil Beach, part of Dorset's Jurassic Coastline. Although only having one bedroom the Brambles has plenty of space for 2 people. The main living area has a well equipped kitchen space and comfortable sitting area with a sofa and log fire. There is a table to enjoy a meal together and French windows lead out onto a secluded south facing patio with garden furniture to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening. The bedroom can be made up as a double or twin. The bathroom contains a walk in shower. Nearby you will find the Old Stable which has table tennis and a Foosball Table Football game. In addition there is a large collection of novels for you to borrow and a free wifi hotspot to catch up on your emails and social media. There are also laundry facilities.
The cottage is surrounded by open fields to explore and for the very energetic you can easily join the Coastal Footpath. The village of Langton Herring has its own pub, The Elm Tree, which is about a 5 min walk away.
Our cottages are available for weekly holidays all year and for off-season short breaks (Oct-Mar). For short breaks we try to stick to a 3 night stay arriving on Fridays or a 4 night arriving Mondays. For weekly breaks we do try to stick to Friday to Friday. However we can be flexible and will always try to fulfill your requirements.

The Brambles is one of seven cottages which form Character Farm Cottages. Ann Mayo and her daughter Jane Elwood have been running the business for over 30 years in addition to the farm. At some stage during your stay they will come and visit you to make sure everything is OK. Jane is also delighted to show any interested guests around the farm and the dairy.
The Brambles is on the edge of the small village of Langton Herring, 3 miles from the seaside town of Weymouth. From the cottage you can walk a short distance to the Fleet and Chesil Beach which forms part of the famous Jurassic Coast recently featured in the highly popular TV series "Broadchurch". We farm most of the land surrounding the Brambles and we are always very happy to show guests around the dairy to see the cows being milked. Youngsters also like to lend a hand feeding the baby calves! Langton Herring has its own pub called the Elm Tree Inn which is a short walk from the cottage. In the next door village, Portesham you will find the Kings Arms which we highly recommend.
Weymouth is popular for its lovely sandy beach and shallow waters. It also has other attractions such as Sea Life Center, Nothe Fort, Brewers Quay, karting and a multiplex cinema. Nearby Dorchester has a good selection of restaurants at the newly opened Brewers Square such as Nandos, Waggamamas, Carluccios and Cote.
Dorset is also home to many stunning country houses and gardens, the Tank Museum at Bovington, Monkey World, and many fantastic country pubs.
We want you to enjoy the Brambles and consider it home from home. Arrival is from 1500 and we ask you leave the cottage by 1000 on your day of departure to allow us to clean before the next arrivals. Please do report any breakages or damages to allow us to fix or replace before the next guests arrive. Do please have a good clean up before you leave.
À partir du 30 mars 2018 - 28 septembre 2018, la durée minimum de séjour est de 7 nuits.

Generally known as Jake but real name is Colin! I flew helicopters in the Royal Navy and now fly long haul with British Airways. I'm married to Jane who runs the family farm and have 2 children Lucinda 17 and James 15. We have been running our holiday cottages for over 25 years now and take a great deal of pleasure meeting people and seeing them enjoy themselves in our cottages and this beautiful part of West Dorset. Many guests return year after year, treating their cottage as their own "home in the country".
