Pros: The flat has very convenient location to the beach and two good bathrooms. The host is very communicative. Cons: The flat is in the apartment hotel style building and is also operated like that. Everything is devoted to accommodate maximum amount of people and due to this reasons some windows cannot be fully opened etc. The flat is very simple (no regular furniture, empty walls, no bed lamps, no TV) and too small for 4 people (even for a family with 2 children).

The apartment is spacious, clean and has a wonderful sea view. The best part is being so close to the beach. The location is perfect because Poblenou is not overrun by tourists and it feels a lot more authentic. The metro is within close walking distance and you can reach the old town within a few minutes. Just buy a 10 journey ticket and you'll be able to visit all the sightseeing spots Barcelona has to offer. The little streets, stores and markets in Poblenou are also great and having a kitchen is a big plus. The communication with Dana was very good. She was very helpful, making the stay easy and relaxed. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

We had avery nice stay at T.&D.'s place. The best things: It's so close to the beach and the pool on top of the building. The flat itself is rather functionally equipped. The host was very communicative and helpful at all times. I can recommed the place and would go there again.

This place is perfect for families that are looking to be in a secure area of Barcelona. We never felt unsafe staying here unlike how we felt walking around central Barcelona. The rooftop pool is a brilliant luxury and a perfect little heat trap for those sunny days. The flat is very basic compared to places we have stayed before but it satisfied our needs for our stay. Thank you for having us.

Barcelona is a beautiful city with plenty of events throughout the year.
Here is events calendar:

Festes de Sant Medir

In the neighbourhood of Gràcia, the religious festival of Sant Medir is celebrated in full vigour as its streets convert into a carnival for the day. Celebrations are in the form of street parties and parades with colourful floats. Sant Medir was an honest farmer who experienced a miracle after displaying loyalty to the Catholic Church, this day was therefore commemorated to celebrate his faith.

Event cost: Free.

Barcelona Marathon

Thousands of runners from around the world take to the streets of Barcelona for this big sporting event. The route, which changes every year, leads them past many of the main historical landmarks of the city. Locals turn up in even greater numbers to show their support to those taking part. The aim is to finish the 42km (26 miles) race in less than six hours.

La Diada de Sant Jordi (Lover's Day)
Date : 23 April 2016
One of the most celebrated events in Barcelona, Dia de Sant Jordi commemorates the death of the city’s patron saint, Sant Jordi (St George). Celebrations are reminiscent of Valentine’s Day but with a twist: Men give women roses while women give men a book in tribute to Cervantes who died on this day in 1616. The best place to celebrate this event in Barcelona is along La Rambla, which transforms into a massive flower market and book stall.
Venue: Streets and squares in Barcelona.
Event cost: Free.

Spanish Grand Prix (Formula 1)
Date : 13 May 2016 - 15 May 2016
Otherwise known as the 'Gran Premio de Espana de Formula One', the world's best 20 drivers compete here in one of the most important races of the year. All the action can be seen from the stands and on the 17 giant screens - not a skid nor a pit-stop need be missed. The Circuit de Catalunya of Montmelo has improved its facilities for spectators, now offering 14 grandstands, three of them under cover. This is considered to be a particularly well-designed circuit. The capacity for spectators is 104,000 and there are facilities for camping and car parking, as well as food and drink within the circuit complex. There are two days of practice and qualifying sessions before the big race on 22 May.
Venue: Circuit de Catalunya of Montmelo.

Primavera Sound

Corpus Christi
Date : 19 June 2016
Religious processions and parades take over the streets of Barcelona throughout the month of June. Major boulevards in Barcelona are decorated with flower carpets, adding colours to the vibrant city streets. On many of the city’s water fountains, you will spot l'ou com balla, a hollowed-out egg 'dancing' on the fountain spouts. If the egg does not break, it is said to mean good luck for the year ahead.
Venue: Barcelona Cathedral and various venues.
Event cost: Free.

Festival of Saint John
Date : 23 June 2016 - 24 June 2016
Known as the 'Verbena de Sant Joan', this festival of fire takes place over the shortest night of the year, welcoming the arrival of the longest day. Subject to strict regulations, people light bonfires in streets outside their homes and in public places. As the evening warms up, parties get underway with drinking, dancing and consumption of 'coca' - a speciality cake. Fireworks add sparkle to the flaming night sky as people get together to celebrate this pagan tradition, tied in with the notion of witches and enchantments. Similar summer solstice festivities take place in towns and villages throughout Catalonia.
Venue: Streets and squares of Barcelona.
Event cost: Free.

Barcelona Summer Festival (Grec)
Date : 1 July 2016 - 31 July 2016
Barcelona’s Summer Festival is one of the reasons why summer is the best time to visit the city. Popularly known as the 'The Grec', the festival offers a great mix of entertainment with musical highlights from previous years including Joss Stone, Brian Wilson, Craig David and Marianne Faithful. Each year the organisers aim to bring something new and different to the international audiences who attend the festival. Most of the 45 events of the Barcelona Summer Festival of theatre, music and dance are performed at Teatre Grec, a Greek-style amphitheatre on the hill of Montjuic.
Venue: Teatre Grec and various theatres in Barcelona.

Fiesta de La Mercé
Date (To be confirmed): September 2016
The Fiesta de la Mercé promises to be the biggest party of the year, involving plenty of live music, spectacular fireworks and Catalonia’s national drink, cava (champagne). Numerous events take place during these three days of celebrations – including parades featuring giant wooden figures and human pyramid competitions where groups of castellers stack up and compete to form the highest human tower. For the full programme of events, enquire at the main tourist office at Plaça Catalunya.
