My brother lives 100m away from my house and he will be on hand to assist with any issues. I won't be available to meet with guests as I will be travelling at the time my house is available. However, I will be available by email, txt and mobile phone. I prefer to use Airbnb for all messaging. You will also receive my brother's mobile phone number for emergencies.
Guests will be issued their own 4-digit access code to unlock the house door, simply use the last 4 digits of your cell phone number.
To unlock my house punch in the last 4 digits of your cell phone number into the main door keypad then turn the key-knob counterclockwise about 1/3 turn until you feel it click. It's a new lock so it will be a bit stiff.
To lock : simply press the Shlage button (the one in the middle of the keypad) and turn the key knob clockwise until you feel it click.
Kitchen: use the Tassimo coffee maker. I have Maxell regular coffee, Nabob espresso free for you. Feel free to use anything you find in the cupboards, fridge and freezer. Please use the brown IKEA plates, but if you need anything else go for it. In the coffee-cup cupboard please don't use the cups on the top shelf.
Please don't use the espresso machine I have covered with a plastic bag. This is a bit tricky to learn, so use the Tassimo automatic machine instead.
If you run out of Tassimo coffee pods, please ask me and I will have my brother deliver you some more.
You have plenty of towels in the upper bathroom. Feel free to use both bathrooms. Both toilets are dual-flush and the seat covers are self-closing. Extra toilet paper, towels and hand soap is in the cupboards.
The second "toilet-looking" thing in the upper bathroom is NOT a toilet, it's a bidet, used for washing intimate parts. If you're a European you probably know this, but I've heard some Canadians ask me "what's this?!?"
If you run out of soap or shampoo, please ask me and I will have my brother deliver you some more.
When using the shower make sure you close the door all the way so water doesn't get out.
Heating and air conditioning is controlled by the thermostat found in the dining area. If it gets really hot outside 25c or more it's best to have the "fan" at "on". Start the cooling at 75F and adjust to your liking.
If the air-conditioning is on, all the windows and doors need to be closed shut.
You can use the clothes washer and dryer located in the basement. Please try to save on electricity by using the dish washer and laundry between 7pm and 7am, but feel free use them as you need them any time.
If the air out site is under 25C you can probably be comfortable by simply opening the windows, and turn the A/C off.
If you're staying only a week there will be no house cleaning. But you have lots of clean towels to last you a week. In case you do need anything or have any questions please call my brother Alex (phone number hidden) he lives across the street however he may be not available until late afternoon.
If you have garbage to take out, please do not leave it outside the house, as local wildlife will will get into it and make a mess. Take the garbage bag out and place it at the curb of the road in front of the house on Friday morning, when it's garbage-collection day.
If you're bringing pets, please make sure they don't scratch, pee on or do anything that may permanently damage anything.
Enjoy your stay! If you find any deficiencies, please do not give me a bad rating on AirBnB before you give me a chance to fix it.
