Moonlight Lake is the premier vacation home in the High Sierra & Yosemite area! It boasts 33 acres of private land with a 4000 square feet home perch atop a hill overlooking the private lake. It has been the host for many events such as summer vacations, family reunions, and its share of weddings and receptions.

The best feature of property is the private lake. Come and enjoy your own fishing hole that is privately held by the owner of Moonlight Lake. Only the owners and their guests are allowed access to this water which means you could be the only one fishing this majestic water.

Moonlight Lake (ML) is a split tri-level home that is approximately 4000 square feet with 6 bedrooms and 3 baths. It posseses amenities such as a large media room, two levels of outdoor decking, a large dining room table, custom-built fireplace, pool, jetted hot tub, horseshoe pit, and views of the water from every single room. The master bedroom is tucked downstairs with an access to the lower and larger deck. The master bath overlooks the lake. media room and High-Def satellite for the ultimate viewing pleasure. There are two levels of decking in the back of the home that has hosted wedding ceremonies for those interested in intimate settings. Moonlight Lake is definitely about family and fun especially with the pool and hot tub conveniently located next to the house.

Overall we had a great stay here. We had a large party and we're able to accommodate everyone. The outdoor space is lovely and there are many opportunities inside and outside the house to enjoy time with family. The house is 15-20 minutes from Bass Lake which was our favorite part of the trip, such a lovely time spending the day at the lake. The pool/jacuzzi were beautiful and a great place to spend time with family. The only issues were the jacuzzi was very difficult to heat, we had everyone in the family try to heat it and and even looked up YouTube tutorials and unfortunately could not get it to warm up to our liking. The AC works very poorly, the main house gets very hot, a few rooms have AC units that are lovely but otherwise the house is quite warm. The house is a little run down, you can tell not much care is put into it but overall it was clean and safe, not too big of an issue. Don't expect to swim in the lake, it is full of muck and algae, but there is a paddleboat that our family enjoyed fishing on. Overall it was a great stay and a great location to spend time with a large group of family.

What a great retreat! There were 12+ in our reunion and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax. Deer stroll by in the morning. Blackberry bushes along the pond. 2 tv rooms and the giant dining table were great for gathering. Only bummer was the BBQ was out of gas so we have to do a tank swap. Location is about and hour into the park. 15 min to town for groceries and a trip to Reimer's Ice cream Shop. All the other reviews were right this place is great for large groups.

The house is amazing. It is beautiful and perfect for a large family group to visit. We stayed there for 5 nights and made the 1.5 hour trip to Yosemite each day to do some day hikes. The pool was also very nice as there was a big heatwave this week. The only issue was that the A/C was not working properly and it was 87F even in the evenings so it was hard to sleep for our group of both seniors and babies.

This was one of my best airbnb experiences. THE HOUSE: It. Is. Stunning. We had the max 16 people and we didn’t feel crowded for a second. All the beds/furniture/rooms were very comfortable and clean with plenty of windows and natural light. The decor is rustic without being run-down. The kitchen is fully stocked, from dishware to cookware to industrial BBQ grills (the pantry even has skewers for smores, etc). Our group had a blast hanging out in every nook and cranny of the house, from the theater room with the massive ottomans to the living room with the fireplace + lounge-couches to the back patio with the stunning lake view. There is even a outdoor kitchen/pool table by the spa that I didn’t even see in the photos! The best part: the lake with a private dock. We spent our day swimming around and floating around on inner tubes/peddleboat/paddleboard. The previous review mention there is an unmaintained access road, but they must have come in through the back road. There are actually two access roads, one of which is paved and easy to drive over. THE HOSTS: The owner and manager were in constant communication to make sure everything at the house was in order. When the hot tub blew a circuit board, they personally drove out to buy the new parts and fixed the spa ASAP. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway in a beautiful natural space.

I normally write generally positive reviews, but there were too many problems with our stay to not warrant mentioning them in our review. First, I’d definitely give praise to the house as a whole – it’s a beautiful home overall, and the back area is very nice to have. The beds were in order and the rooms were clean. But there were plenty of problems, which I’ll list below: 1) We were notified the morning-of our arrival that the pool and hot-tub weren’t functional and were dirty. When we arrived, this was definitely the case, and we couldn’t use them for the entirety of the weekend. They said the filter had broken a few days ago and they were trying to fix it and didn’t fix it in time. I clean pools, and upon seeing the state of the pool I was skeptical of this (it seemed like it had been left unattended for longer), but that’s just my own guesswork. 2) In the kitchen, the oven, while functional, was damaged on the inside (thermal lining ripped), and both of the blenders we tried to use were broken (one not functional, one leaked its contents out of the cracks in the plastic). 3) There’s two grills – both of which didn’t function. At first we thought there was no propane (even though two full tanks were promised), but after purchasing a new tank, neither grill worked with it. 4) There was no TV – while there were TV screens, there was no TV service. The DirecTV subscription had expired and had not been renewed. 5) We attempted to use one of the bathtubs only to find that it was missing the plug and couldn’t be used. 6) The access road was poorly maintained, which we had not known in advance, and we weren’t keen on driving our cars on it. 7) The entire back area, generally speaking, was coated very dirty (the seats and appliances) and had webs everywhere, as if nobody had cleaned it in weeks. 8) Lake wasn’t “private” as advertised, but is shared with another home that is in visible proximity and also uses it. 9) A portion of the furniture – particularly the ottomans in the big living room, were damaged with chunks missing out of them. Alltogether, the house had a lot of issues that cannot be ignored – we intended to grill, use the pool, hot tub, enjoy the lake, watch some TV, and a host of other things – which is why we picked the house – but none of which we could do.

Please read the last item of this complaint. If you are using my home to "host" drinking parties, weddings, events, or inviting unregistered guests without paying the additional guest fee, your not welcome. Your contract will detail that you are requiredto pay for additional quests on the property. If your going to have an event, that is a different contract through an insured 3 party. Breaking that contract and destroying my property, then following up to complain your breach of the rental contact allows to post a negative review? If your renting my home because your friends tear your home up when they get drunk, your not welcome. Lets start with " if your renting my home to host a large drinking party with non-registered guest , overload and destroy my property your not welcome. I"m a little shocked about the review, after this guest left a 2,000 dollar flat screen TV, laying shattered on the floor. . My staff attempted to meet this client at the home, but they would not answer the front door for my staff. We made an exception for this client to rent for 2 and not the minimum of 3, due to the fact he was in off season dates. Off season in the mountains means we are just coming out Winter and you pay less for the conditions. In renting our home renting home, if it means you expect your off season stay to be Summer like , can't do that. People like this ruin it for everyone we have guest coming next week and doing repairs from the damage this client caused. Winter weather conditions in the Sierra's were in play so the outside very much looked like Winter. Morning were below freezing, so outside conditions during our Winter weather are rough. We do our best AFTER storms to clean up. The weekend in question was sub 30 at night and very cool during the day. We have a pool service company who maintains the pool. The filter had broken during normal cleaning, early season stuff. I sent a truck the same day 60 miles to another city and purchased a new one. Spa was ready by AM Saturday, but since the client would not open the door we could not tell them. The pool was not ready until the next morning, but god help anyone swimming at 30 degrees. Oven is functional and not even sure what he is talking about. Grills are functional, but we will inspect prior to rental. . No call or complaint about TV, that would have been a 20 min fix online. Yes the lake is private, I have court records showing prosecution of trespassers. It is not public, my neighbor has a lodge barn, not a home, lol. The client used the wrong entrance road, I can only assume. Use Quail Ridge road to 7 hills, to Courtney, it's county maintained, ask any questions you might have, or read other reviews (URL HIDDEN)
