Our quaint, 1930's cabin was completely renovated in 2015 to take advantage of the amazing property. A large deck off the back overlooks a small orchard and miles of trails. Soak in the generously sized, 4-person hot tub or lounge on the outdoor couches enjoying the gas firepit. Pull yourself a draft beer from the tap in the kitchen, enjoy a picnic at one of the benches scattered throughout the property, or take a trip to one of the four wineries within 10 minutes drive.
Our house is a ~1500 sq foot, 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom cabin located on a working farm just south of Charlottesville.
The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and a patio overlooking Roundtop Mountain. The guest bedroom has a twin-sized futon and a crib. A queen sleeper sofa is in the living room; sheets will be laid out if your party is more than 2. Kitchen is large and well-stocked.
There's a decent library of good books available, and we keep some board games around, too. In case it's crummy weather, we have DirecTV and wifi, and an old-fashioned wood stove to add some ambiance on cold winter nights.
Accès des voyageurs
You'll have access to our whole house and the surrounding outdoor space. Horseshoes and volleyball are usually set up. Table tennis and gym equipment are available for guest use in the detached garage. A picnic area with separate firepit and grill is a short hike away by the river. A half-mile gravel path surrounds the house, and various trails run through the woods behind the cabin.

We will typically stay about 10 minutes away by car during your visit. We want to be conscious of your vacation time, and don't expect to be a regular presence. However, the large outdoor area does require significant upkeep. Sometimes it might be necessary for Lindsay or I to cut grass, weed the garden, or check up on honeybees during your visit. We will keep you apprised before stopping by.
The property can be hard to find; contact us if you have any issues! I'll send out a house guide the week before your visit with precise directions. The cabin is the second (and last) house on the driveway...please be considerate of our neighbors.
We want to make your stay here as pleasant as possible. Let us know if any special accommodations are desired.
Please treat our home as your own.
Lindsay and I moved to Charlottesville in 2014 after spending a decade in the Navy. She's currently teaching honors algebra, and I work in the finance department for the University of Virginia. We love hiking, running, being outside, and meeting new and interesting people!
