À propos de ce logement

We're subletting 2 bedrooms in our flat from MAY 13 to JUNE 13 while we travel. Our place is super comfortable, very well-furnished and centrally located in the quiet neighbourhood of Lucrepata which is right beside San Blas and is a short walk to the Plaza de Armas. We are looking for great people to stay in our home while we are away in order to cover rent. Rather than renting the whole apartment which can be pricey, we're offering rooms which seems to be more affordable for people :)

Description

We're subletting 2 bedrooms in our flat from MAY 13 to JUNE 13 while we travel. Our place is super comfortable, very well-furnished and centrally located in the quiet neighbourhood of Lucrepata which is right beside San Blas and is a short walk to the Plaza de Armas. We are looking for great people to stay in our home while we are away in order to cover rent. Rather than renting the whole apartment which can be pricey, we're offering rooms which seems to be more affordable for people :)

Our spacious fully-furnished apartment is on the 2nd floor of a quiet family-owned apartment building - away from the main street which can be a welcome relief from the Cusco madness. We've lived street-side before and we're very happy to be living away from the chaos. The apartment contains 3 bedrooms (each with double bed), 1 bathroom, a large well-equipped kitchen and a spacious living/dining room area. We will be leaving our bedroom closed while we're away.

Price includes internet and utilities (water and electricity).*****

Our place has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Cusco but please bear in mind that you will be sharing the space with 1 or 2 other people.

What's included:
- A good wifi connection
- 24-hour water & hot shower - Our apartment has its own water tank (which is not always the case in Cusco homes) so when the city shuts off the water supply at night (which it does daily), we still have running water.
- Blankets, towels and linens
- A fully-equipped kitchen

In addition:
- There's a bakery on the ground floor of our building
- San Blas Market is only 1.5 blocks away
- There's cheap laundry service in our building that will wash, dry, fold & then deliver your clean clothes back to you

FULL DISCLOSURE & CUSCO QUIRKS
- We have just 1 bathroom. Hope you're ok to share!
- The shower requires a bit of a tutorial if you're not familiar with the electric-heated showers that are common in Cusco. The pressure is gentle but good & it gets sufficiently hot but you have to be patient.
- Buildings are not insulated. And there is no central heating. Meaning if it's cold outside, it's cold inside too. Come prepared with warm clothes.

We will be out of town during this sublet period but always available online and by phone. The owner and his family live in the building which is convenient if there are any problems. But at the same time, the ideal person/couple are respectful and considerate tenants as our landlords are pretty much around all the time.

Our apartment is centrally located in the quiet residential neighbourhood of Lucrepata, which borders San Blas and is a short 10 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas. What does this mean for you? It means that during your stay Cusco, you have the benefit of being walking distance to everything while also being able to rest easy in a quiet and secure residential neighbourhood. And our street is well-lit at night and patrolled by security.

From our place, it's a short stroll to markets, restaurants, cafes and bars, shops and galleries, spanish language schools, and colectivos to the Sacred Valley etc.

Please keep in mind, however, that San Blas and Lucrepata are up the hill from the Plaza de Armas. This walk and distance might not appeal to people who want to be right in the centre.

If you don't feel like walking, taxis are always available and it costs only around $1 or $2 to get pretty much anywhere in Cusco.

Please remember that this is not North America, Australia or Europe! Cusco is an unpredictable place. Sometimes unexpected and inconvenient things happen that are beyond our control. Once, a fuse blew and our electricity went out. Another time our water tank didn't fill and we didn't have water for a few hours. Sometimes the internet doesn't work (although most of the time it does). All of these situations are rare and temporary, and may never happen while you're here. But you never know and we hope you understand.

Make yourself comfortable and enjoy your stay in Cusco! We do have a few house rules. Mainly that you care for our place and things as you would your own. And that you don't have huge raging parties in our house :)

Other house practices (all based on past experiences):

1) Do not put toilet paper in the toilet. Pipes are thin here. You will block the toilet and potentially flood it.

2) No smoking in the house. If you smoke, please go out to the street.

3) Remove your shoes at the door. Dog poop. When you get here, you'll know what we mean.

4) If you break something, please replace it.

5) If friends come visit and break (or even take something), please replace it. And seriously, if they're taking things from our house, please don't have them over.

6) Respect the house, the neighbours, and each other.

7) Do your part to make sure the house is clean and tidy.

8) Be respectful of noise especially at night or early in morning (basically when people are sleeping).

9) Please be mindful of electricity and water usage. Try to take short showers. Shut the lights off when not in use.

10) Remember to turn the stove off when finished using it. It's gas!

11) Please leave the house in good condition when you leave.

My husband Shane and I are pretty experienced travellers (38 countries and counting). He's from Australia and I'm from Canada so we move between our home countries to see our family and friends, while making long stops in between. We like to give ourselves time to explore so we usually stay for a while, sometimes for a long while (we've lived in 10 different countries). And we currently call Cusco, Peru home. Wherever we are, we try to live consciously and conscientiously, and with full respect for our environment and the people around us. We like to surround ourselves with like-minded people. It's been a blast being part of the airbnb community - as both guests and hosts! Hope to see you soon :)
