Anna was very consistent in answering inquiries about her listing and she was kind enough to go to the subway station to show us the way to her house from there. Unfortunately, there is not much else I can say in terms of praise for the room. First, the picture of the room is wildly inaccurate. It's clear that the photo is one of a hotel room and not the actual room. The actual room is smaller and less neat compared to that in the photo. Second, the amenities offered do not match what is written in the listing. Anna writes that there is a living room with a TV and includes a picture of an inviting setting in the listing. To be fair, I had no desire to watch TV during my stay in Osaka, but there was no living room available. The kitchen was enough for us, but the refrigerator was quite unclean and unorganized for a house where many people might stay. There was also no eating area. Other guests who stayed there use the kitchen area to wash their clothes in the house's only washroom sink, which is in the same room as the kitchen along with the laundry machine. There seemed to be no rules for allowing personal space in the refrigerator for guests as it was packed on nearly every shelf. For any travelers considering staying at Osaka Kuma House, be aware that the house will be occupied by as many as 14 people, or more, at one time. This wouldn't be an issue except that there is only one shower in the house and one sink for washing (on a separate floor from the toilet we were able to access). This of course led to long waiting periods to use the shower, brush our teeth, or even just wash our hands. Obviously, this isn't the hosts fault, but I think that the price we paid to stay at this house does not come close to matching what we expected based on the written listing and the photos. We had no idea that so many people would be occupying this one house as her profile shows various listings in different locations. They are actually all different rooms in the same house. Furthermore, the house is farther out of the way and less conveniently located than the host writes in the description and requires one extra train transfer outside of the JR lines. I simply can not recommend this house for other travelers looking for a pleasant AirBnB experience. In our case, this listing was a last resort during the summer festival season when every other guest house, hostel or similarly priced accommodation in Osaka was completely booked. The "help" she offered came in the form of wrinkled pamphlets with information you'd find online. It seems that the host is more interested in filling the house with as many people as possible that she is with providing a decent living and resting space for travelers.

Hello, I am Anna. I am Japanese, but I can speak English and chinese.
We(my husband and I ) are creative people and have a tastefully decorated house.
The kitchen is dining separating it from the living room,
and both rooms are separated from the rest of the house by a door,
so there is some privacy.
There is also a big sized balcony on the 4th floor.
We have books and nice sofa , some movies, wifi as well as complimentary water and Japanese tea.
There is a grocery market across the street and a convenience store next door, and guests are welcome to use the refrigerator as well as the kitchen and it's appliances for cooking, as long as they clean up after themselves.
Shower and bath are available.
There is also laundry and of course two toilets.
Bedding and towels are available.
Even though you are our guests, this is our home, and the atmosphere is of course comfortable, relaxed and friendly. Interaction should be natural, and not forced.
There is a grocery store, library, gym and pool on our street, as well as several nice bars and restaurants. There is a convenience store next door, and a post office with international ATM's just around the corner.
We are located a convenient 5 minute walk from Yata station.
Guests are expected to clean up after themselves.
We can recommend and give directions to major tourist attractions, as well as popular restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs and shopping areas.
we can help you with just about anything!
we like to talk with people who come from overseas.
we like travel too.
we hope we can meet you in Osaka,Japan.
and we hope you can have a nice sleep in my Japanese type room.
Thank you for your booking.
