"The Margarete" is a newly built lovely bungalow-style home for dog lovers and enthusiasts of the amazing South West.
The "Margarete" is dedicated to Margarete Hartman, an astounding woman born in a German concentration camp who came to Kanab in 2000. She earned her citizenship through a life dedicated to helping both people and animals, gratefully opening her home to National Park visitors needing a place where they could stay with their dogs.
The Margarete rental home offers many amenities including a quiet private bedroom and pull-out Queen size bed in the lovely living-room. A full kitchen, laundry room and delightful back yard with 6' linked-chain dog yard makes this the place to stay while visiting the National Parks, vast public lands and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
Kanab is the heart of the National Parks, a small Western town with heart and character. Everyone coming to this great estate of the National and Public Lands does a BIG WOW and wishes they were staying longer. Zion, Bryce Canyon, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, the incomparable "Wave" hike, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Lake Powell, Antelope Slot Canyon and of course Best Friends Animal Sanctuary - all are easily accessible from the convenient and comfortable little town of Kanab.
"The Margarete" would like to make your experience in the South West a very good one, understanding that people traveling with their dogs are often challenged. The Margarete allows you to travel happily with your dog/s so they have as great an experience as you do!
Ruthie, the owner, lives next door with her trio of dogs so daily walks, grooming and shared doggie play time are available.
Come visit, come enjoy and include your dog - this special place was meant to meet the needs of 2 and 4 legged friends!
