Zgornji Brnik is quiet, and in the middle of some picturesque agricultural land. There are a shop and bar close to Ani's, and a restaurant not far away, but it's worth the 20-minute walk to Cerklje na Gorenjskem for more shops, bars, cafés, and an ATM.
Unless you're planning on going to Bled or Ljubljana, which you can get to by shuttle from the airport, or to Kranj, which you can get to by infrequent bus from Zgornji Brnik, the closest things to visit are Grad Strmol or Krvavec mountain bike park. The former is a bit underwhelming, but the latter is worth doing for the Alpine meadows and mountain views.
Basically, worth it if you have an early flight to catch, but its patchy transport links make it a bit of a false economy if you're planning on spending more than a night there.
