À propos de ce logement
A beautiful country house tucked away in the woods providing a tranquil private setting, while still only a 15 minute drive from Lenox (Tanglewood) and central Great Barrington. Perfect for a couple or small family.
One luxury couple's suite with a king size bed facing french doors looking out onto the garden and forest. On suite bathroom includes a jacuzzi. There is a guest room down the hall with a queen size bed. If you are looking to accommodate a couple more people the couch in the upstairs TV room is an extremely comfortable pull out bed.
Upstairs there is a lovely kitchen (fully equipped), a spacious living room and a separate TV room with DVD player and a large selection of films. There is fast speed WIFI throughout the entire house. The house stays naturally cool during the summer and I can assure you no AC is necessary.
There are several house phones all of which are hooked up and can be used to make calls. AT&T gets good service at the house but Verizon can be spotty.
DIRECTIONS TO THE HOUSE:
From Great Barrington - take Rt. 41 towards West Stockbridge. You
will cross Division Street after a few miles, where there is a
blinking traffic light - stay straight which means continuing on Rt.
41 ( for future reference you can use Division Street to bypass GB -
your GPS will show you how).
Continuing on Rt. 41 will bring you to the Hamlet of Williamsville -
there is another blinking light - on the left there is the
Williamsville Inn. Your destination is up the hill and on the left.
It is essentially & nearly just before the top of the hill. Note on
the left you will pass a few houses that are visible from the road -
including a yellow house with a gambrel roof - turn your attention to
the right: you will see a whitish mailbox and a compound of funky red
buildings - the driveway for 270 is on the left - the property is
marked by a low stone wall - the is a small sign with 270 leaning
against the wall - the end of the driveway is marked by reflectors.
IF you overshoot the driveway, you can turn around in the next
driveway which is marked by a tall wooden fence. Please use caution
when turning in to the driveway as the oncoming traffic is coming over
a blind hill. Thankfully because of the set back of my house it is
From the West Stockbridge exit of the Pike: turn left onto Rt. 41 at
the end of the exit ramp. After about 5 miles as you come close to your destination you will note a large 'factory like' light coloured building on the
right, after that you will go over a small river. Pixley Hill Road
will be on your left, just before the river and Cobb Road on your right. The driveway is exactly 2 miles from Cobb Road on the right. As you approach you will see a house with a red door - slow down! then you will see a wooden fence - the property is the next one: slightly down the hill - there is a low
stone fence, reflectors mark the driveway.
Most GPS' work, but just in case.....safe travels!
Accès des voyageurs
All parts of the house are accessible - apart from the upstairs study which is currently being used as a storage space (however the washer and dryer are located in the closet in the study so feel free to enter and use these).

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions during your stay at the house. I also have a young woman who lives close by who can be contacted for help should any issues arise.
The house is a 5 minute drive from Amy's Cafe, a wonderful little, locally owned cafe on the corner in Housatonic. It is also right in between Lenox and Great Barrington (15 minute drive to each town) which are full of wonderful local restaurants, cafes and shops. Tanglewood and Kirpalu are also just 15 minutes from the house, and the surrounding area is full of hikes and look out points as well as the Stockbridge Bowl, a beautiful lake.
Smoking is not permitted except outside.
