Description

A comfy room close to the ruins. Price is for a double room with A/C and attached bathroom.

Sarath’s is a pretty good-looking bungalow with two doubles, a triple and a single, all with air-conditioning, attached bathrooms and a little veranda to enjoy the fresh air.

Mr. Sarath and his family live in a separate home on the same premises. A retired tailor, he recently bought a van and started renting out bicycles to add to the income he makes from hosting guests. Local meals can be arranged.

Tucked away in the North-Eastern corner of the Cultural Triangle, Polonnaruwa is one of Sri Lanka’s most important ancient cities. It is also the least travelled to, but if you’re looking for a well-preserved, ancient, beautiful, clean and green cultural heritage site, Polonnaruwa is where you should go. Also go if you like monkeys, ‘cause the site is full of them. Quirky thing about Polonnaruwa is that it’s becoming measurably colder due to global warming… a welcome change for once.

Profil utilisateur de Neverbeen

Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.

We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.

As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.

In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.

The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
