À propos de ce logement
Featuring space for 12 guests, this house is large enough to accommodate multiple families, but cozy enough that a romantic couple feels right at home. This charming 1937 beach house is the perfect getaway. 5 minute walk to the beach & downtown
Come to the Pirate's Cove Beach House. Built in 1937, this house has charm and an old school vintage feel.
The main floor has a queen sized bedroom, bunk room and two full bathrooms. The second story has another queen sized bedroom with a peek of the ocean on nice days, a bedroom with a bunk bed and toddler bed as well as a large full bathroom.
As a note - the bunk room is a converted garage - it has a heater, and if the door is opened from the main house to the bunk room the primary heating source (pellet stove) will heat the whole area as well. Sometimes if this room has been closed up it can have a "musty" smell - due to the age of the house, the fact that it is located at the beach and that it is a converted space. Open the door to the main house and the window in the bunk room to help air it out upon arrival. Linens are provided and folded on each bunk - you will need to make up however many beds you need to use in the bunk area. The bunk room is best suited to older kids (about age 6 and older) to adults. The lowest bunk is about 3 feet off the ground and has no guard rail. The top bunk is very high (about 6 feet off the ground). There are no guard rails. The floor is concrete with a thin rug covering it - small children or others who are "active sleepers" and may roll out of bed should not use the bunk room. Also note that the decor of this room is pirate themed (please see pictures) - some children may not be comfortable sleeping in this space. If you have children with you they may be more comfortable in other rooms of the house, or this house may not be suited to your group. Please review the pictures in details and message us if you have questions about the use of the bunk room.
Parties of 12 assume that each queen bed (2) will have two people and that all of the bunks in the bunk room will be occupied. Be sure to read on for details about the bunk room and suitability of this space for sleeping children - no guard rails on bunks that are very high.
The living room has a newly added 40” flat screen TV streaming Netflix, a bluray player, and a VCR with an extensive VHS collection. There is also a TV in both of the Queen sized bedrooms. In addition if you are into vintage gaming the house has a Sega Genesis, an original Playstation and a Nintendo 64 with a selection of games for each. For those that are really old school we also have a great collection of board games.
The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils, pots pans, plates etc. The plates and all the items do not always match as they are made up of old sets that my husband and I had when we were single before we merged together and made our home together. Also note that there is not a dishwasher or garbage disposal. The kitchen is very functional, but is also low tech.
Overall the feel of the house is very "comfy"; imagine you are visiting your aunt and uncle's house where you have been going for decades - it isn't fancy, but it is a nice break away from it all. This is very much in style with the overall laid back feeling of the town of Rockaway. We use our house as a family getaway to enjoy relaxing times with friends and family. If you are looking for a pristine newly built home with an all new interior this house is not for you. This home is best suited for families or groups of friends who enjoy getting out to the wild Oregon coast to enjoy some time at the beach, some good food and good times. If you like sand between your toes and hanging out in a comfortable space this house may be perfect for you.
Outside there is a carport with a charcoal grill for making some tasty dinners.
This house is pet friendly; please let us know if you plan on bringing a four-legged family member with you.

Accès des voyageurs
You will have access to the entire house. However, if your party is small enough to use the main house without the bunk room please do not use any of the beds in the bunk room to cut down on the cleaning time needed to reset the house. If you 7 people or less we are charging you less due to the decrease in laundry. Please help us continue to keep the costs low by not swapping beds each night using up each of the linens over the course of your stay.

We are available via email or text messaging if you should run into any glitches on the property.
Parking is available for up to 3 cars, there is a carport and a graveled space in front of the house. If you use the carport please pull up the side road, past the house and back your car in. That way when you leave you won't be trying to back up the gravel road and end up spinning your wheels.
The house has a pellet stove, operation instructions are in the house - if you aren't comfortable with the stove please use the electric heaters installed in the wall of each room.
Garbage - garbage is picked up on Monday mornings. The service will get the can where it is located (on the carport). If you are parked there please be sure to move your car on Sunday night or be sure that there is enough space to roll the garbage can out. You can also pull it out to the end of the carport. If you are there on a Sunday night take all garbage out that evening to ensure that as much garbage as possible gets picked up.
You must be at least 25 years or older to rent this property.
Maximum occupancy is 12 people.
This is a non-smoking house. If there is evidence that smoking (of any kind) has occurred I the home during your stay you will be responsible for the costs associated with fully cleaning or replacing items within the house that retain the smoke. If you smoke outside please be sure to properly extinguish all remains, collect all cigarette trash and dispose of it in a responsible manner.
No use of illicit drugs or other substances.
No firearms on the premises.
Do not move furniture, our house keeping staff does not move furniture. Please be sure everything is in the place it was when you checked in.
We allow up to two pets with an extra $40 pet fee- but ask that you let us know if you are traveling with a 4 legged companion so that we can let our cleaning staff know that an extra measure of cleaning will be necessary. If you have a pet with you that gets up on the furniture please be sure to use the pet linens provided in the VHS/Laundry area to cover the couch or bed before your pet gets up. If there is evidence of a pet being in the home that was not declared we will utilize the Resolution Center to collect the $40 pet fee; and additional compensation if necessary due to not having been informed of the pet and the potential extra charges the cleaning staff will charge. PLEASE INFORM US OF YOUR PET. If any messes are made on the carpet - please clean them using the supplies available.
Parking - there is enough space for 3 vehicles to park on the premises. One carport is available and a gravel area is available in front of the house where 2-3 additional cars can park depending on the size of the vehicle. Please limit your vehicles to no more than 4 so that the neighborhood is not overwhelmed by cars parked on the street. DO NOT Park in adjacent neighbor's drive way. There is a small flat space in front of the house directly next to ours on S. 2nd - do not park there. This is the drive way for the neighbors. Please only use the gravel area in front of our house or the carport. Do not park in any neighboring areas as people live in the neighborhood around our house. Even if it seems that they are not home it is not your right to park in other people's driveways. Only park in the allotted space in front of our house or in the carport. If your vehicles do not fit in those places please park in the public parking down town and walk or carpool to the house. If you decide to park in the carport please pull straight up Falcon - past the house and then back into the carport. Otherwise when you try to leave the house you will spin your wheels in the gravel trying to back up Falcon street. It works much better to simply back into the carport. Note - we do not offer parking that is large enough for trailers.
When leaving the house please wash all dishes, turn off all heaters, strip all beds of their sheets (leave the quilts in the bedrooms) and start at least 1 load of laundry - either all of the sheets, or all of the towels. The laundry will become unbalanced if you mix sheets with towels, if possible move that load to the dryer and start a second load. Please do not pile wet towels with other laundry.
Take out all garbage. Note that the garbage gets picked up on Monday mornings - if you are staying through a Sunday night, take out all garbage on Sunday evening to ensure that as much garbage as possible gets picked up. Also note that the garbage service picks up the can in place - on the carport, no need to pull the garbage down to the street. Also please be sure not to block the garbage by parking it in - they need to be able to wheel the can out to the truck.
Please clean up obvious spills and other messes. We ask that you treat our house with respect. We expect our guests to treat out house like a home, not a hotel room. If you spill things on the carpet (installed March 2016) please clean them up using the supplies available.
If your party is small enough to just use the main house (without the bunk room) please limit the number of beds you sleep in to only those necessary. We charge less for these smaller parties because we expect that we won't need to wash all of the linens. It defeats the purpose of this if you hop from bed to bed.
If you use a large number of towels - please try to wash and dry at least one load of them before checking out. The house has a large number of towels - if all of them are soiled and need washing on the last day it can take twice as long to complete the laundry which may delay check in for other guests.
Return the keys to the lock box upon leaving. If keys are lost or not returned you will be charged $150 to cover the costs of rekeying the house.
Quiet hours in our neighborhood are from 10pm-8am. Noise disturbances are grounds to terminate your rental agreement and may result in the need for you to vacate the premises immediately.
Note that this home is in close proximity to others in the neighborhood. Please be respectful of our neighbors. Do not trespass on their property for any reason. Do not place garbage on their property - this includes the retaining wall near our carport. Do not leave bottles, cigarette butts or anything else on the retaining wall. The retaining wall is the property of the neighbor - do not trespass. Do not hang items on the divider between our properties.

We are career professionals who like to work hard and play harder. We enjoy traveling and spending time with our two little girls. When we are exploring the world we like to feel like we are at home and so generally rent a house or an apartment rather than a hotel. We like to find the local scene and steer clear of the tourist traps.
We are laid back, born and bred in the Pacific Northwest, love good food and good times with friends and family.
