Oh boy, I love my house and I think you will, too. It was built in 2006 so things are new and they work! :) It gets a lot of light, as there are windows galore, and features central air and heat.

Downstairs you'll find a living room with a TV/DVD player (I've got movies for all tastes), a couch that pulls out into a bed, and a mini-library (feel free to borrow). There's a half bath and an eat-in kitchen that you'll have full access to. You're welcome to use my washer/dryer/wash basin/clothes line for all your laundry needs. Outside is a gas bbq pit and patio table.

Upstairs is your bedroom, a full bath, and my room.

Your room features a double bed, windows on three sides, two deep closets to store your bags, and shelving to place your belongings. You'll also find some maps and trail guides on your nightstand. The bedroom is large enough to accommodate a pack and play if you are traveling with kiddos.

The house is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Upstairs is carpeted so you can walk around barefoot and not catch the sniffles. Oh, and the shower has great pressure!

Please note: The listing mentions only one bed but if you have an extra person they can sleep on the pull-out couch.

You have your run of the house: living room, kitchen, outdoor patio/bbq, laundry. Your well-behaved dog is welcome to hang in the fenced-in yard when you're not there.

You can store your food on the guest shelf in the cupboard and in the fridge and make use of oils/spices in the cupboard.

I've just spent nine months traveling around the world and I know how nice it is to feel like you can relax in a space. I want you to feel at home here. If you need something, just ask and I'll try to accommodate.

If you'd like to smoke, you can hang out at the outdoor patio table and puff away.

I love to meet guests, but I like to let them take the lead on how much they want to interact. In the past I've taken guests on hikes, stayed up late talking about travel, and gone out for drinks. Other guests do their own thing, and that's great, too. Sometimes I'm super busy and am barely around, so it all depends on timing and tastes!

Missoula's Northside is fun, quirky, and filled with fantastic neighbors. My house is two blocks from a community garden, two blocks from a playground/park, two blocks from the Missoula Outdoor Cinema, a five-minute walk to one of the best breweries in town (Kettle House), 10-minute drive from the airport, and minutes from downtown’s bars, restaurants, museums, and farmers markets.

You can catch a bus on my street to the downtown transit station, where all bus lines connect. If the weather is nice, you're welcome to borrow my bike or you can always explore on foot. Nothing is too far from the house if you fancy a nice walk.

If you didn't notice from the photos, I have a dog. His name is Tuck and he's 12 years old. He's a sweet-tempered guy once he gets over his initial "who are you?!" barks. If you leave your bedroom door open he may wander in and sleep on the floor between your bed and the wall. It's one of his happy places. If you'd rather him not enter, please keep your door closed.

Only well-behaved dogs will be allowed to stay. If your dog chews furniture/clothes or digs holes in yards, please leave him/her at home. Also, Tuck has this weird dominance thing with un-neutered males. So, if your guy is intact, please leave him at home.

No pets on living room furniture, please. Feel free to cuddle with your critter on the bed, though.

Basic stuff: Please treat the house with respect. If I'm sleeping when you arrive or depart, please try to keep noise to a minimum. No smoking inside the house, but there's a nice patio where you can puff in peace. Also, and this is my pet peeve, please clean your hair out of the shower drain. :)

Tuck is curious about cats but has been trained to let them be.

Hey, there!

I have done communications work for various public health and environmental non-profits since 2000. I play guitar and sing for fun, love to be outside, eat popcorn almost every night, speak passable Spanish, and have a love/hate relationship with dandelions.

I believe in creating a safe, welcoming space for all people. Looking forward to swapping travel tales with you!
