Salty Towers is an old house! The earliest construction dates to 1825. The main house is a 1903 renovation of an 1840's home. It was subsequently added to in the 1940's.
We are always trying to keep it in decent shape but it does have the signs of old age!
It is our home and as such we often have locals (friends) visiting or we may be hosting a dinner party or some music. We usually encourage participation. There are often other guests staying as well, especially in summer so it's likely you will not be the only one staying. We want guests to use the public spaces in the house and not feel like they have to "hide" in their rooms.
Accès des voyageurs
Generally guests have access to a large living room, dining room, sunroom kitchens and a large covered porch. These are all great gathering places.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
If we are home we are available to help guests with whatever they need. We can recommend restaurants, tour companies, pubs, local beer, music, galleries and local events...... just ask. We enjoy sharing stories, a drink and occasionally a meal. We do respect our guests' privacy so don't push ourselves on folks who want to have space.

We enjoy life and the world around us. James has worked as a scientist, educator, innkeeper, artist, naturalist and artist manager. Deb as a child youth worker and server. Music, travel and food have always been a part of our lives and we love to share stories and opportunities with others. We have 3 kids between us, one a wildlife rehabilitation worker, another a touring musician and the third an arts administrator/community developer.
