A house manager lives in the house.
She will help you.
The owner (Haruka) often comes by.
Small home parties happen occasionally.

Autres remarques

A part of the first floor is still in process. The owner(me) may be sawing, drilling or hammering during your stay.

Haruka and Yuko might get off and not at Hideaway sometimes.

You can doodle on the wall or add anything funny/lovely/inspirational/impressive to the house, as long as it fits there.

Air conditioners in the living room and guest rooms.

The outside of the house looks shabby and we are going to keep the old appearance because this is the secret base just for us. But inside of the house is absolutely comfortable to stay, I believe.

Washing machine use is free, but detergent use costs ¥100. If you have your own detergent, it's also good to use it.

I'm working holiday visa holder. When I first arrived in Osaka, I wanted to stay in this house for around 2 weeks only. Main reason was location. However I knew this house's owner is so kind and condition of house is quite fine. So now I reserved 1 month more. Highly sure if you choose this house, you wouldn't regret

I am very glad to have chosen Hideaway to stay when in Osaka. The place is amazing. Personally, I really like the location which is in a quiet local neighbourhood and has everything you need nearby, the convenience store, the supermarket, takoyaki and okonomiyaki stall, cafe, ramen shop, tonkatsu... everything. The closest station is only 10 mins walk away and once you get there, Namba station (central Osaka) is less then 20 mins away (remember to change at Sakai for the express train!). Then you can visit anywhere you like or go to Kyoto or to Mount Koya, etc. The place itself is clean, tidy and cozy. It accommodates a small number of guests at one time which make it very easy to meet and talk to people (which is just awesome especially if you are travelling alone). Yuko the host (aka house manager) is very helpful, friendly and approachable, which again make the whole experience of staying in Hideaway really nice. Also, a very funny and interesting person. She lives in the property herself and really look after the place. So, the place does feel like home and very comfortable to stay in. I have really enjoyed my stay. Though I don't remember how or why I chose Hideaway again in the first place, I am very glad to have done so for the reasons above (and more) and will definitely choose it again if I come back to Osaka. Hope this review helps! Realmente he disfrutado de mi estancia. Aunque no recuerdo cómo o por qué elegí Hideaway otra vez en primer lugar, estoy muy contento de haberlo hecho por las razones arriba (y más) y sin duda elegiré otra vez si vuelvo a Osaka. Espero que este...

Yuko was an amazing host!! She was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. She even sent me a message welcoming me on my way there! All the information listed is accurate (although I definitely recommend setting the address in your smartphone when coming from Ishizugawa Station for the first time), and the guesthouse was cozy and clean. For my first time in Osaka and my first Airbnb experience, my stay here was amazing. I definitely recommend Yuko's place and would come here again!

Staying at Hideaway was my best experience with Airbnb so far. Hideaway is located in a very quiet and typical japanese neighborhood, which is literally good to "hide away" from crowded city life. Other than that, the host, Yuko, is kind, laid back, humorous, accommodating and helpful. And Hideaway is also a great place to meet other interesting guests. During my stay at Hideaway, I felt like home. All people with whom I stayed together were super friendly and all of them had speical stories. It was just lovely. A lot. Everything was great. I will definitely come back to Japan and stay at Hideaway again. You all will see what I mean. Don't hesitate to stay at Yuko's Hideaway !!!! :-)

Hello! This is Yuko!

About Hideaway:

I am a local in Osaka living in a newly-renovated Japanese house and I am hosting travelers! The Hideaway opened in 7th Oct 2015 and I have hosted over 165 travelers around the world so far.

Hideaway is located in a residential suburb of Sakai town called Ishizugawa. We have artworks, Japanese/English/Spanish books, travel information in English/Japanese日本語/Mandarin中国語/Korean, free drinks and more. We have dinner gathering in the house occasionally.

Sakai is not still really popular among tourists but the city has a world heritage site called "Kofungun", temples, traditional tea session centers, traditional craft work (particularly cooking knives), fish markets, public baths and many more places of interests - all easily accessible along the Nankai train line! The Japanese garden here are not as crowded and we have matcha tea plants in there. Sakai city has a lot of attractions on artisan history which is only known among some Japanese people but if you are interested in local culture and craft work, you will surely enjoy Sakai.

At Ishizugawa station where Hideaway is, there are takoyaki (octopus balls - a famous Osaka traditional food snack) shops, yakiniku (fried meat) BBQ restaurants, ramen and udon restaurants and local dining bars serving standard Japanese food. There are also convenience shops, clinics and supermaket nearby my place.

I welcome guests to have conversations with me in English or Spanish during your stay here.
Estoy estudiando Español('ω')ノ

As a traveler to over 30 countries myself, I think it is more important to communicate with the locals and experience the culture, than visiting tourists sites. I hope to give my guests the similar experience that I enjoyed and make their trip a memorable one.

I can also help you practice speaking Japanese and teach Japanese calligraphy if you like.

I looking forward to meeting you!
