Overlooking the Indian Ocean, this 2 bedroom large open plan unique property offers spectacular views of the beach. Just 1 hour south of Perth with rail, bus or car access, this is the perfect escape and only 3 minutes from the centre of the village of Mandurah. Far enough to enjoy the relaxed holiday atmosphere and close enough to do business. We have plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants within 3 minutes drive or 10 minutes cycle. The bedrooms are on the mezzenine or 1st floor level with the living area opening onto a huge front deck with the most fabulous ocean views. A rear private garden court yard with a gas BBQ is perfect for an outdoor luncheon on a hot summers day or just to relax in and listen to the birds. Plenty of room for a long term stay for 2 or 3 people and a lot of our European guests stay up to 4 months.
Cafes, 18 hole golf course and Mandurah Village centre are all within 5 minutes drive. A beautiful white sand beach is immediately in front with swimming, snorkeling, surfing, fishing, wind surfing, kit flying etc all available to you.
2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, quality linen and all the comforts of your home are provided at the Wedge. A full kitchen with Meile cooker, full fridge, microwave, coffee filter &/or pod machine and every thing you need for a short or long term stay. Flat screen DTV, DVD, IPod docking station, reverse cycle air conditioner are all in this well thought out holiday accommodation. 1 bathroom with shower and toilet, front loading washing machine, hair dryer and bath towels plus amenities.

Wedge apartments are a small block of just 4 large ground floor units each with private rear carport that leads to your entry door direct from car to apartment with a walled garden court yard. Private garden with gas BBQ and outdoor furniture for dining or relaxing at the rear overlooking Australian bush trees. The beach is immediately in front of the Wedge and the large front deck overlooks the ocean and beach. All have wonderful ocean views & the sound of waves on the beach. There is a step or two to your entry to the ground floor where the kitchen, bathroom/laundry and open plan dining room and lounge room all look out to brilliant ocean views. People often say "it is much bigger than I expected." Bedrooms are on the first floor with a flight of stairs.
The Mandurah Country Golf Club is just 3 minutes drive with a beautiful 18 hole course or within an easy walk. All linen, towels, water and power are provided as well as a starter pack of soap, detergent, toilet paper, washing up cloth, bin liner & tea towels. Split system reverse cycle air-conditioning ensures you are comfortable at all temperatures. There is a timber deck under the trees at the rear with lounging chairs to watch the birds or catch a cooling breeze

We live on site so we are around in the garden or on the beach and always happy to assist with directions on the best sightseeing or shopping. We get to know our long term guests as friends and many return year on year and stay for extended periods. We do have FREE bikes on site & FREE WiFi
We love the fact that we are surrounded by the Indian Ocean on the front and the river and estuary between us and the city of Mandurah. It is a very quiet older suburb that has not been over developed like so many areas. Dome Cafe is within an easy walk around the ocean front or 2 minutes drive, open daily and licensed. It is a wonderful area to cycle both north and south along the ocean front and through the wetlands if you are a bird lover. We are very close to Peelwood winery and the village offers a full range of restaurants and eateries. We do have several not so new bikes that our guests are welcome to borrow. Mandurah Country Club is walking distance or 2 minutes by car. Halls Head Shopping Centre is 4K away and has 58 specialty shops & cafes including Aldi, Coles, Kmart, bakeries, hairdressers etc.
We suggest a hire car is the most convenient means of transport in Western Australia due to the size of our state. The local bus stop is just 2 blocks or an easy walk and safe and clean to use. The train from Perth to Mandurah is brilliant and runs every 10 minutes during peak hour then 30 to 40minutes in off peak. It takes 55 minutes from Perth to Mandurah then either a bus or a taxi to Halls Head. There is a mini bus from Perth Airport to Mandurah & they will drop you at our door which needs to be pre booked. A taxi ride from the airport to Mandurah is equal to a week of car hire if you use an off airport hire firm. We are very happy to assist with information on local rentals etc. We do have FREE bikes on site for our guests - adult size only, we don't have any small children's bikes. Having a hire care in our climate is the most convenient form of transport.

The Wedge is not recommended for small children as there is no play area or close play ground other than the beach. The Wedge has an open front deck railing which has at least a 1 m drop, however whilst we don't market to families, you know your child/children best and it is your choice.
The beach is a great play area or alternatively we can recommend the Beach House next door which is perfect for families with children, 3 x 2.
No parties, respect for other guests peace and quiet and no smoking in the Beach House. However we do allow smoking in the garden and expect that our guests will treat the property with the utmost care and respect during their stay. No pets please at the Wedge however we do have the Beach House right next door with a 4 night min. stay.

We live on the ocean front with our two Irish Setters, Hurricane and Thunder who love to walk on the beach, swim and chase balls. I enjoy the garden and we plant native scrubs and trees to attract the birds to the property. We live on site on 1 Wedge and rent out 2 others so we are there to welcome our guests and offer assistance or tourist information. There is a lovely 18 hole links golf course just behind us which is walking distance. Lots of kangaroos live there and sometimes they come down to the beach through our property in summer. We have several bicycles that we make available for our guests as there is wonderful cycle paths all around the ocean and the Peel Estuary wetlands or into the village of Mandurah. We enjoy cycling, walking, cooking, gardening and the ocean in so many different ways.
We really enjoy our international guests and assisting them with their sightseeing and enjoyment of this little piece of paradise.
