This unique 17th c. gothic Tower has recently been faithfully restored to its former glory as a romantic Summerhouse. Set in a beautiful Victorian Walled Garden on the private Homme House estate, it enjoys spectacular views of the Malvern Hills.

Le logement

The Summerhouse is a unique, 17th century stone garden building. It has a Lower Bedroom Chamber with four poster bed and Upper Drawing Room Chamber, accessed via a stone spiral staircase, with a wood burning stove and beautiful views over Homme's Walled Garden and the surrounding countryside.

A separate, private bathroom building is metres away through a gate in the Walled Garden wall, offering a wet room with drencher shower, basin and loo, as well as an outside sink for washing up.

Guests are welcome to use our recycled Kadai firebowl as a BBQ or fire (only firewood fuel is supplied). The firebowl is situated on a patio on the south facing wall of the Walled Garden along with teak patio furniture and candle lanterns.

A continental breakfast hamper is delivered to the Summerhouse at the time of guests' choosing in the morning.

Note that the Summerhouse is a Grade I listed building without plumbing or electricity in the Upper Chamber, and as a garden building occasionally visited by an insect or two! Given this, and the outside walk to its bathroom, the Summerhouse is a romantic overnight stay suited to those interested in unique, glamping style experiences.

Accès des voyageurs

Guests have access to the Summerhouse, its bathroom and the 2 acre Walled Garden which has many beautiful spots to sit out when the weather is fine. From mid-May to mid-July the wild flower meadow is in full bloom.

Guests are also welcome to walk down the Estate's parkland driveway to visit the centre of Much Marcle village (c. 25min walk).

Guests do not have access to the main garden or other areas of the Estate.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

We are resident on the Estate and on hand to help with any queries during guests' stays.

This space is so special. The upstairs room with 360 degree views and a roaring fire, overlooking the walled garden is just spectacular - and Charlie & Sarah think of all the little details to make guests comfortable. Definitely worth it!

My boyfriend and I wanted to stay somewhere a little bit different but still indulge a bit- and that's exactly what we got. The summerhouse was lovely and Charlie and Sarah were fantastic hosts. The little extras they included like the fresh breakfast and having the log fire already prepared really made a difference. We had a great time exploring Herefordshire from this lovely site.

Sarah and Charlie immediately made us feel welcome, but after Sarah had carefully showed us the tower and the gardens, they completely respected our privacy. It's a beautifully quiet and romantic place to be, we managed a little yoga session in the garden, both the fire-pit and wood burner were set up for easy use and the continental breakfast was just delicious with some wonderful steaming hot pastries. My only concern when booking was about having the washrooms and facilities separate to the main building. Although it was pitch black when we nipped out late at night, there were a couple of hand held lanterns that helped perfectly illuminate the way, and it's really only 20 seconds walk. It was quite exciting really, got a chance to see the stars, like you only see in the countryside! Both the wash rooms and tower itself were well maintained and stocked, with soaps and shampoos, guide book, tea making facilities, board games and plenty of rugs and blankets in case you fancied lying out either on the grass or by the fire. Stayed just the one night, but am definitely thinking of heading back, and would recommend to friends, lovely stuff!

Stunningly located, romantic and tranquil. Every book and cranny is full of character and the walled garden was a sanctum of beauty and tranquility. Charlie and Sarah, who live on site, could not have been lovelier. Wonderful breakfast, fires already built and waiting. This place is a financial bargain given the remoteness and space given over. We spent plenty of time walking the flower filled garden whilst eating freshly picked apples. I don't really want to recommend it to anyone else, as I want it just for me.... Quite wonderful and genuinely can not wait for any reason to head back. Thanks again guys. Kiren and Chloë
