Great house in the middle of nowhere but good location for north/east hokkaido sites. The house is unique, you feel miles away, a bit noisy at times (passing cars), Yuya is awesome, well travelled and really nice ! We spent three amazing days

Yuya is really a nice and helful people : he picked us up at the station, explain us everything about buses schedules and remained avalaible at every moment in case of need. The handmand house is so cute, each detail is creative. Near the house : a really good onsen!

It was our first night stay in Hokkaido. We arrived late after dusk at Tida House. Even though it was hard to spot the house in the dark, instruction to check-in was clear and Yuya was prompt to reply our messages. He even took effort to travel down personally to receive us. When we first entered the house, the house was already heated up with burning firewoods set up by Yuya’s dad. It was a nice gesture in a cold night of the autumn. Most restaurants closed early in Hokkaido so we had to settle for food from convenience store. Seeing that we only have cup noodles for our dinner, Yuya gave us some of his tomatoes & grapes that he has grown at his backyard. The tomatoes tasted great! The night could get cold when the firewood burns out. Despite that, the overall experience was great. The house is truly one of its kind with adequate amenities for a good stay. If you wish to experience staying in eco friendly straw bale house, this will be the one.

We made this booking looking forward for an adventure. We're not disappointed. Yeah maintaining the fireplace working is hard work but it's so much fun. Walk out to access to the toilet n bathroom around 4C at night is not for everyone but, it's not an ordinary homestay as we already knew. All in all, we had great time n we'll come back anytime if we're around.

Really fantastic accommodation that speaks volumes of Yuya's artistry and finesse in details. A whole suite of amenities such as coffee, microwave oven and even mosquito repellents provided to ensure his guests enjoy a comfortable stay! A must for anyone who's planning to visit the Shiretoko/Rausu area!

Tida House was great as promised. The house is adorable with lots of interesting nooks and crannies. Everything worked well including the fireplace. It was easy to find and the owners communicated well with me although we didn't get a chance to meet in person. The comforters were super comfy and we slept well and rose with the sun. I definitely recommend visiting Shiretoko and Akan national parks and staying at the Tida House which is conveniently located between the two parks.

I'm a cafe owner and self builder.

After traveling around 16 Asian countries to research cooking for two and half years, I built a cafe by hand made with my friends. It is Asian foods cafe, Suiba.
And We also built straw bale house as a guest house at the same time. We named it Tida House (Tida means the sun in Okinawa dialog).
But sorry, Suiba has been closed Since 2015's summer for starting new plan.
I'm making new guest house at mountainsite on the way to Shiretoko.
Cafe Suiba will restart in 2017.
A cafe will be open during Jauary to May.
I'd like to share unique ideas with nice travelers from all over the worlds.
I will create more fantastic cozy place!!
