Our house is a 100 years old house and most of its part are old fashion please be aware that gates and door locks need a bit of attention, patience and care. Upon arrival you might find the gates closed, unfortunately we do not have a doorbell so you are more than welcome to call out Onelia!! like the locals do and someone will come to open the gate for you. You will also be given a set of keys to access the house after check in. It is your responsibility to keep this set of keys safe. If they get lost you will be charged the cost of the keys replacement. The iron gates and main door entrance locks are a little bit tricky please ask for explanation and help if you can't manage to open them with their corresponding keys. If the keys get broken and stuck in the lock you will be charged for the repair of the locks and the keys replacement cost. It is necessary to lock the gates and doors. It is not because our neighborhood is unsafe, it is just simply because strangers enter the premises without our consent and invade our privacy, take things, wonder around the property and no one is able to take notice.
You will be allowed to access all of the space in the house except for the family bedrooms. Upon request you can even access the rooftop for sweet 365 degree views of the neighborhood and for sunset mojitos! Upon arrival and if you are willing, a family member will show you around the entire house for you to get familiar with the building and the way the keys, the shower and the switches work. Also, we are required to ask you for your passport so that your name is recorded on the guests' book for legal purposes.

Feel free to become another family member; we are a very hospitable family and we love to get to interact with our guests. We have four family members who speak English fluently; Jessica, Yoxander, Dianelis and Yoalber. The rest are very articulate in Spanish. Onelia is our mother, Chef and the Heart of the family. Alberto is our father. He is a charismatic, hard-working veterinarian who loves to chat about politics. We all love to play dominos, so be ready for the challenge! If you prefer privacy, we will respect that - the house is certainly large enough to find a private space to relax. Please, feel free to ask for anything you might need.
We expect you to respect all of our family members - no matter the gender, race or age. We will also respect you - no matter your gender, race or age. If you are a smoker, we prefer that you smoke outside; on your private terrace that you access directly from your bedroom, on our front porch, back terrace or backyard. Please ask us for an ashtray instead of butting out on the terrace or in the garden. We require you to switch of electrical appliances when you leave the house, i.e. air-conditioner, lights, etc. Please remember to place your toilet paper in the bin provided and DO NOT flush it down the toilet. The bin in your private bathroom will be emptied daily. The bathroom has two entrances and we are able to access your bathroom from another room without having to enter your bedroom. The bathroom is not shared with any other guests despite other guests might be staying in the bedroom connected next to your bathroom.
You are welcome to bring guests into the house, however all guests must be registered for legal purposes. This requires us to sight their passport or ID card and record their details.
In response to our guests' feedback we have provided a minibar fridge with refreshments for your convenience with prices described on a list in the bedroom (if the list is missing please ask). Before you consume, please be mindful that the price is possibly more expensive than you will find on the street. If you would like to save some money, feel free to buy your own water, etc. and bring them home to chill. It is important to pay for the refreshments or replace them before you leave the premises. Thank you.
