In the heart of historical downtown Santa Cruz, our spacious family friendly home is only a few minute stroll to the beach, the Boardwalk, many restaurants, bars, and cafes! It's the perfect destination for an escape to paradise. There are two floors so the kids can have their own upstairs space and the adults can relax downstairs. This art filled house is fun and inviting, and there are no valuable heirlooms, so no need to stress or worry during your downtime!
**ATTENTION!** Per Santa Cruz City law, we are required as Airbnb hosts to collect the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) separately from your Airbnb transaction. The TOT is 11% of the nightly rate (before fees) for each night you stay. To make the process easier we will send you a request for the tax through the Airbnb site. If you prefer, we can collect this in cash or check upon check-in or during checkout.

You will be able to access all areas of the house. The downstairs and upstairs can be completely separated from each other-- which will be at your disposal!
Please note that the downstairs front room that leads to the foyer for upstairs access can be left open during the day. At night, when that guest goes to sleep, the door can be locked and the other guests can come around to the side door to come into the downstairs living room and kitchen.
We have a driveway which can fit one car comfortably, two if you must! We also provide two permits for parking on the street. It is very important that these are returned upon check out.
We also rent our house as two separate units, each with their own kitchens, bathrooms, and washer/dryer. When rented separately, these units are completely separated from each other.

This will be your own private sanctuary from arrival until departure.
If preferred, we are available to meet with our guests upon arrival and be glad to offer a tour of the house and amenities. After that, we leave you to enjoy your space. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, we are always available by phone, text, email, and Airbnb communication throughout your stay. We are located close by if you need us for any reason. If you prefer to be met at the door let us know. We include an informational pamphlet on all things Santa Cruz - dining suggestions, things to do (in walking and driving distance) and a map of everything in the downtown area.

For guests that are planning on going to The Boardwalk:
Consider staying with us on a Monday or a Tuesday, as the Boardwalk has $1.00 rides, hot dogs, cotton candy & soda from 5PM to closing. It's a great bargain and tons of fun!
Based on availability, we offer an airport pickup and drop-off from SJO or SFO for an extra fee. Please let us know in advance if this is something you're interested in.
The house is equipped with basic spices, oils, salt/pepper, etc. in the kitchen. We have lots of extra towels, blankets and pillows.
You will not be charged for the deposit. It is only an agreement that if you were to damage the house (spill wine on the carpet, break a window, etc) you agree to be financially responsible.
We strive to make staying with us a unique and memorable experience, and for you to want to continue staying with us in the future. We are always open to general comments, suggestions, or concerns. We can't wait to hear from you soon!
Please respect our neighbors by keeping the noise level down after 10:00PM (this is in accordance with Santa Cruz city laws).
This house is only for agreed upon guests. Unless prearranged, the house is limited to the number of guests given during reservations. Please include children in the number of guests when making your reservation, unless they are under the age of 1 year old.
Please NO smoking and NO pets. We have guests to whom we have promised a smoke free and animal free environment. Failure to comply with our rules regarding pets and smoking will result in a $200 fine.
Stolen or damaged goods will be deducted from your deposit.
There will be a $200 fee deducted from your deposit if the parking passes are not left in the house upon check out. The city only issues the passes once a year. If we lose our passes, our guests have no place to park.

Hello, we're Rex and Briana Solway! We have both lived in Santa Cruz our entire lives, and know the town like the back of our hand(s). We enjoy traveling, fine dining, photography, and the ocean-- we wouldn't be able to live far from the beach! We're avid sushi lovers, die hard Survivor fans, adore cats (but no worries if you have allergies, no kitties live here!), and often find ourselves critiquing the films and shows we watch. We worship the sun, but thrive under the moon and the stars when it's dark outside. We're always looking for the next adventure that awaits around the corner.
