Private, detached cottage in Central Austin, ideal for couples looking for a quiet accommodation with easy access to all that Austin has to offer.

Clean, private cottage with lots of light in peaceful, tree-lined Ridgelea neighborhood in central Austin. The cottage is a separate building behind our house, so you have lots of privacy, though we are on site if you have questions or want to visit with us. It shares a garden courtyard with our residence.
Fully-functioning residential space with three rooms: large living/sleeping area, full kitchen, and bath with shower.
Queen-size, comfortable bed with pillow top mattress sleeps two. Fresh bed and bath linens provided.
Kitchen has table for two next to a sunny window, gas stove, full-size fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and blender. We provide coffee, sugar and milk. There is butter, cooking oil and basic seasonings. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cutlery, glasses, coffee cups, pots/pans and utensils including cooking knives, blender and a corkscrew.
Bathroom has plenty of counter space and a closet. Blow dryer, iron and ironing board. Shower height is 6'6". We provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash. there are two pool/beach towels.
WE HAVE TWO DOGS: Both are rescue dogs. Emmy is the bigger brown dog. She may bark; she is sweet but she's a watchdog and is wary of strangers, so she will be wearing a bark collar. Luna is black/smaller and she loves people. The are in a separate fenced area and cannot get into the cottage yard or porch.

We have a choice of five bikes you may borrow (see pictures.) There are three hybrids, two of which fit most riders and one of which fits average to shorter riders. There is a vintage (1973) single speed Schwinn Speedster that fits taller riders and another vintage single speed that fits average size riders. Each bike has a lock and spare tube/repair kit. We have three helmets available.
We have wifi with good speed and signal strength. There is a 37" flat screen TV with Netflix, local TV channels and DVD player. We have a small selection of DVDs. There is a stereo with iPod dock and CD player, a propane and charcoal grill, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, picnic backpack.
There is ample parking on the street and you should not have any trouble finding a spot right in front of our house. Please DO NOT park in our driveway except for loading and unloading.

We enjoy meeting our guests, offering recommendations on places to eat and things to do, making new friends and being hosts, but we respect your privacy too.

The house next door is in the later stages of construction. Most activity is inside the house, and the workers tend to start after 9am.
Austin's tap water is perfectly fine and safe to drink.
We will accept children age 6 and older.
Please park on the street and ask your visitors to do so as well. Do not park in our driveway except for loading and unloading.
No smoking inside; you may smoke on the front or back porch.
Please turn the AC/heater OFF when you leave for more than an hour. Thank you for helping us to conserve energy.

Easy-going couple, longtime residents of Austin, we love Austin music and theatre. Andy is into bicycles and sometimes rides his bike to work. Ellen helps run a small local theatre company. We both have day jobs as legal professionals.
