Clean, cozy basement room (6'8"ceilings) with a full-size platform bed in our simple home. The bathroom is mostly private, shared with a washer/dryer, to which you have access. We have a no frills house with basic offerings including tea/coffee with limited kitchen access), and we have an energetic, friendly cattle dog who barks when he greets you, along with 2 friendly cats. We are 1 mile from Brunswick and the train station, and only 25 min. from Portland.
The room is in the basement but has great light and the full-size bed is comfortable. The ceiling is almost 7-feet high (some areas are 6'8"), which is typical of basement ceilings. The pets are not allowed in the room. You'll have access to the larger basement area with a big TV (though we don't have cable). This area is semi-shared, because we come down in the morning and evening to feed the kitties. Polly, our older cat will be happy to join you in the room, or not, just keep the door closed, otherwise, she will make herself at home and enjoy your company. We have a good DVD library to choose from, if you'd like to relax and watch movies on the big TV (we don't have cable). Access to the bathroom is through the "man cave" (an unfinished basement area) where the heater is stored.

NOTE: Our dog is a high-energy dog who barks when he greets you, but overall he is friendly. We are happy to tell you about the Topsham/Brunswick area, which has some amazing local restaurants just a 10-15 minute walk away. Check out our Host Guidebook for local restaurant and sightseeing suggestions. There are often exciting events happening in town, and we'd be happy to help choose the best options. We can also guide you to some other spots that might not be in your guidebooks, like a gorgeous walking trail nearby that follows a brook through a shaded gully.
We have a cattle dog with a loud bark, but he's very friendly, especially if you throw his favorite ball for him. NOTE: Though we do offer tea/coffee service and a little nook to hang out, we offer limited access to our kitchen because we use it often, so it is cluttered. Our basement ceilings are only about 6"8" high, and in some areas (door frames), may be a little lower. The bed is a DOUBLE bed. We live in the house and we are happy to share our space with easy-going guests.
This is a non-smoking house in a quiet neighborhood. Our pets are friendly, though our dog does bark when he greets you, but we can't accept additional pets. Please don't eat in the room... we have a shared live-edge bar in the kitchen nook where you can enjoy your meals. We can offer limited access to the kitchen and refrigerator.
