- Cottage 1: Cal king, custom retro kitchen, living room, bathroom
- Cottage 2: Carriage house with queen, games room, bathroom

Great for couples or families to enjoy together time and private space. 15-min walk to aquarium, dining, shops, beach. Dogs (2 small or 1 large, well-behaved & crated).

Pacific Grove Short-Term Rental Laws
•Maximum occupancy for our unit is 2 adults per bedroom + 1, so 5, with no limit on children. We only allow 4 adults per stay and try to keep groups to a max of 6, including children. Do not bring extra guests.
•Noise, music and amplified sound are not allowed outside. If the police are called, you and I can both be cited.
•We are allowed a maximum of 2 cars at our property because it is street parking only. Don’t park in front of neighbors.
•Trash pickup is on Fri am – Put ALL bins on street in am and bring them back in after they're emptied.
•No fires are allowed. NOTE: Spare the Air days for Pacific Grove can be (EMAIL HIDDEN)
•Pacific Grove has severe water restrictions. Do not use outside water. We are at Stage 1 water restrictions, with garden watering only allowed on Wed and Sat. See (URL HIDDEN)
•Stay off the dunes, out of tide pools and river banks and don’t disturb butterfly nesting areas. Be extremely careful in Pacific Grove’s environmentally sensitive habitat areas, such as Asilomar Dunes (bounded by Lighthouse, Asilomar and Asilomar State Beach/Conference Grounds), which are home to native plants and animals.
•The city requires us to track the following information for each stay: Dates of stay: license plates of cars parked, names, phone numbers, and home addresses of guests.
Pacific Grove severely limits vacation rentals. If we get 2 complaints in a year – parking and noise generate the most – we will lose our license to rent. I screen everyone who stays with us and we turn many down, so I am confident you will be a great guest! If, however, there is a verified complaint during a stay, the security deposit will be forfeit. Call me, Frank or Sal anytime day or night if a situation with a neighbor arises. I co-lead a group of Pacific Grove hosts working to bring more reasonable regulations to the city, and I am a strong supporter of the sharing economy. Thanks for avoiding complaints.

Our House Rules
•Outdoor quiet hours (and turn off string lights) after 8pm on weekdays, 9pm on weekends and holidays (switch is on shed).
•No parties or drugs and any visitors who are not in the rental group must leave by quiet hours.
•Dogs can’t be left unattended in the yard, and should be inside when you leave them at home (crated, if need be).
•5-burner gas grill with searing burner. Patio cushions are in the living room chest, there are 3 patio cushion sets for the BBQ chairs, between the cottages and the glider. Please bring them in when you leave or if it rains
•Unwashed dishes aren’t included in cleaning, so may incur an extra charge.
•Put trash in black bin and recycling in blue bin.
•No parties.
•No drugs. Smoking tobacco outside is ok, but leave no butts behind.
•Remember to leave the aquarium passes on the counter when you check out, as there’s a $25 fee to replace them.

Our stay at Mel's place was a pure delight! The cottages are lovely, very comfortable, and well equipped. The courtyard was perfect for our three year old to play in and run between the two cottages. The neighborhood is pretty and quiet. It's a short walk or an extremely short drive to Cannery Row and all its amenities. We highly recommend staying at Mel's.

We love older houses and both of the houses on the lot were comfortable and well maintained. My husband and I traveled with our son and his wife and child; the larger house was a natural place to congregate but we also were able to have the privacy of 2 houses. We loved Pacific Grove and did a lot of walking around the area. Mel was easy to reach and even gave us historical facts on the houses!

Such a gem of an airbnb! We loved our stay here so much. The outdoor space is perfect and the cottages are so cozy and comfortable! Mel was a wonderful host as well :) would definitely recommend a stay here!

What a fantastic find in the heart of Pacific Grove/Monterey! The neighborhood is lovely and so close to Monterey's sites like the Aquarium, Cannery Row, the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail, the 17 Mile Drive, and Lover's Point Park and Beach. The Airbnb itself is super cute with a great shared courtyard and yard with BBQ, firepit and outdoor seating. The two cabins are super cute and was perfect for us two couples (and dogs) traveling together. It's also a great value in a destination where good values can be hard to find. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it!

Super cute cottages walking distance to Cannery row on a quiet street. Plenty of fun games to help unwind. Mel was also awesome at communicating rules and how to get in.

We had a fabulous stay! Mel is open and quick with communication. The location is terrific, the neighborhood is quiet, and the cottages are clean & absolutely comfortable. Having two small private places to stay with the courtyard in between is so perfect for the 4 of us (plus 1 doggie) on this trip that we are seriously considering repeating this vacay annually!

I do PR and social media for a health care tech company and my husband Sal is a software architect. We have two kids and a dog.

I really like being involved with AirBnB and have participated in several conferences and projects with them, because they do a good job of looping in hosts from the Bay Area.

We are so excited to have a new place in the Monterey area as well as our second home in Lake Tahoe. One day we may also have a chance to share our Sausalito home.
