You'll love this cozy hilltop cabin nestled on 4 acres in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Freshly renovated inside and out, new pool table, horse corral by thousands of acres of land, 2 wood stoves, deck overlooking the hill, fully stocked!
This cozy cabin nestled on 4 acres in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest is a great place to decompress or gather with family and friends. Grill on the deck or enjoy a siesta in the hammock. Secluded but close to town. Renovated
We have two cabins on this property, so it's perfect for friends and family to rent out both for get-togethers, or come without the crowd for a quiet getaway. We even have a corral with water and food tubs for our equestrian friends. Access to public riding trails and thousands of acres of land is right around the corner. Unit 23 is world renowned for hunting elk, deer, bear, mountain lion and other game for hunting enthusiasts. Lots of great fishing in the area. You might be lucky enough to spot some of Heber's wild horses with a little exploring in the forest. Antique shops and restaurants right in town. There are 2 woodstoves to keep toasty on cool nights. Since it's at almost 7000 feet in elevation, the temperature here is typically about 30 degrees cooler than in the valley. Nice breezes on the deck!
Access is yours to the entire 4 acres minus the other cabin unless you've rented both. See our other listing for 2 bedroom cabin next door.

This is a unique property because it's part of a subdivision called Buckskin Artist's Community but still has the secluded feel only a couple of miles outside of town. You'll love the hilltop views and breezes from the deck.
Get around by car, horse, or tool around in an ORV/ATV like most of our neighbors do. You can rent them in town!
Since this property isn't in the typical subdivision, please follow our detailed directions here from Hwy 260. Your GPS may not point you directly to it, but if you follow the directions or call us we'll bring you right in. Since there are no street lights it's a lot easier to find before dark if you can manage to check in before sunset. The cabins do have outside lighting but the driveway back is long. This cabin has a queen bed and futon plus a cot and air mattresses if you want to fit a few more people in. If you have more than 3 or 4 adults it would be a great idea to rent both cabins. I will discount the rate if you let me know you want to book both.
Take Highway 260 to Pine Rim Rd. at the Chevron station.
Take Pine Rim Rd. to Artist's Draw.
Take Artist's Draw to Deer Hill.
Take Deer Hill and keep right at the fork to go onto Elk Rd.
Take Elk Rd. up the hill and the property will be on your right. There is a green mailbox. Lots of parking space even if you're pulling a trailer.

We have utmost respect for your privacy but try to be available if you need anything.
Please check to see if it's ok to burn before lighting a fire outside. Also please be very careful to put any fires out thoroughly....we're in a high fire risk zone since it's a dry, forested area. Give us a call if you need help getting a fire started in the wood stoves. Pool table just installed...please be careful not to bump the felt with the cues and supervise children carefully.
