Le quartier

West Yellowstone, Montana, at the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Whether you're here to explore the park, visit the charming and historic community or to relax, we're sure you'll enjoy your stay at WorldMark West Yellowstone.
WorldMark West Yellowstone often experiences dramatic changes in weather during the winter months and can reach extreme sub-zero temperatures. The West entrance to Yellowstone is closed to motor vehicle traffic from early November to late April every year. However, the entrance remains open to hikers and cross-country skiers year-round. Guided tours on oversnow vehicles (snowmobiles and snowcoaches) are available mid-December through mid-March. The only entrance that remains open year-round to motor vehicles is the North entrance, 170 miles (3 hours drive) from WorldMark West Yellowstone during the winter months. If arriving during the winter months, please plan ahead to rent a 4-wheel drive vehicle. The closest airport in Bozeman is a 90 minute drive from the resort and snow-friendly vehicles are in high demand during that time.
Discover the great outdoors in West Yellowstone. Winter or summer, spring or fall, you'll always find something to do here. And there are all kinds of activities and adventures waiting—quite literally—right outside your door. Your resort is just one block away from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The park is perfect for hiking, biking, wildlife viewing, backpacking, fishing, swimming, camping, skiing, snowmobiling and photography.

Yellowstone covers 3,472 square miles in the states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the park is famous for its various geysers, hot springs and more. Yellowstone contains half of the world's geothermal features, with more than 10,000 examples. Visitors can see hundreds of geysers (including the world-famous Old Faithful), pools of boiling mud and an amazing assembly of wildlife, such as bears, wolves, bison and elk.

All vehicles and individuals entering Yellowstone must pay an entrance fee that is valid for seven days and also grants access to Grand Teton National Park (just seven miles away from Yellowstone's south entrance) in Wyoming. Keep in mind that the west entrance to the park is closed to motor vehicles from early November to late April every year. It remains open, however, to hikers and cross-country skiers.

There is no public transportation available within the park, and roads can become very crowded when people stop to view wildlife. Be respectful of other motorists to avoid so-called "bear-jams." There are local tour companies in town offering bus tours of both the upper and lower loop.

Apart from the park, West Yellowstone caters to visitors in a variety of ways. Shop till you drop in the town's dozens of gift shops, galleries and specialty stores. Or spend an enjoyable evening taking in a comedy, melodrama or musical at the Playmill Theatre. Every March, the World Snowmobile Expo is a snowmobiler's delight. The event includes exhibits by equipment vendors, power pulls and drag racing. Another popular snow sport in West Yellowstone is cross-country skiing. The backcountry and telemark skiing is considered tops in the nation, and the U.S. Nordic and Biathlon teams train in the area.

See and learn about grizzly bears and wolves up close and personal at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, right across the street from your resort. Yellowstone's IMAX Theatre is also located at the center. Yellowstone, a 70 mm movie, is shown on a six-story-high screen with stereo surround-sound and tells the story behind the national park. Learn the history, and preview the wildlife, geothermal activity and scenic grandeur awaiting your visit—or find out what you missed. Last but not least, another stop worth visiting is the Museum of the Yellowstone. Housed in the historic Union Pacific Depot, exhibits on the U.S. Cavalry, trappers, cowboys and Native Americans depict the area's early days.

Like you, I love to travel, including cruising. I love to help people. I love to be hospitable. I love to read, especially about the places I am about to visit in my travels and adventures. My husband and I have visited most of the European countries, north and south, as well as: Turkey, Israel, Greece. Southeast Asia, and the Western Rockies of the United States and Western Canada. We have also visited the western shores of South America.

"What you know is a function of whom you choose to believe." This is my husband's (Ph.D.) saying. Of course, I believe it.

I just retired after thirty (30) years with one company. Now, I am enjoying sharing our luxurious vacation resort (which has properties around the world and within the USA). Name any place on this globe, and I will try to help you make your dream vacation or travel experience come true.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,

Lorie
