Description

Just the place to relax and unwind with or without all the family. La Petite Pommeraie is in a tiny hamlet situated in lovely rolling countryside in the Charente region of SW France and on the border of the Dordogne region.

Please visit our new website for January 2017 - look for lapetitepommeraie for more information and photographs.

The farmhouse is situated in its own grounds with stunning views of the Charentaise countryside and its own private in-ground pool. With a choice of a terrace or a pool house to sit and enjoy the view or find the hammock under the cherry trees. And with a relaxed and comfortable interior - from crisp white sheets in the bedrooms to large comfy sofas in the sitting room, this home allows you to relax and unwind at your own pace.

There is off road parking, solar heated (PV) pool (available May-October), all reception rooms, 2 shower rooms (one with a bath) and the required number of bedrooms. There is a large lawned garden and an orchard.
There are 4 bedrooms - one with a kingsize bed, one with a double bed and two each with a pair of single beds (one pair of single beds can be zipped together to form an additional double bed).
There is a cot and highchair available on request.

I am available by email and phone and there will be someone available to show you around on arrival and will then be contactable during your stay should you require any assistance.

The local area is rolling farmland with virtually no passing traffic - the hamlet has just 4 properties.

A car is essential. However there are taxis from the local town of Chalais.

Myself and my husband, Simon, first visited the Charente region of South West France in 2005, taking our children and visiting friends who still live there. We live in rural Somerset and aren't big on crowds, so this was home from home but warmer!
We were lucky enough to find an old farmhouse in 2014 - she needed a little tlc but is now homely, spacious with wonderful views of the rural fields all around.
It is a pleasure to be able to have guests enjoy time at this dear old farmhouse.
