Recently renovated apartment with great in-town locale.

Le logement

(note: please inquire about discounts for stays of 4+ nights, also please shoot me a message before submitting a reservation request for one-night stays as I only accept them depending on other reservations)

This fully furnished apartment includes all you need for a comfortable stay in Vieques: beautiful four-poster queen bed with a new serta mattress (as well as an inflatable mattress and bedding for a second guest), kitchen area with all the basics, wi-fi, chairs, cooler for the beach, etc. While it doesn't have as good a view as the other two apartments in the same building, it is also the most quiet of the three.

The space is on top of the hill a few blocks from main street of Isabel II and is only a few blocks to bars, restaurants, grocery, the ferry dock, town square, etc. Views of the last Spanish colonial fort in the "new" world from the bedroom area.

This apartment is definitely a great chance to experience local life in Vieques as well as having the convenience of having everything you need within walking distance: get fantastic Puerto Rican coffee at Roy's or La Panaderia in the mornings, stroll by the beautiful cemetary in the on the way to a drink and views at Al's Mar Azul in the afternoon, and walk down to holiday festivities in the town plaza at night. The benefits of the in-town locale does come with the added noise of daily life as well as the roosters crowing in the a.m. (although that's pretty much everywhere on the island).

If I'm not in Vieques during your stay, the property manager lives nearby if a problem should arise. Also, having spent the sum of several years in Vieques, I am happy to provide advice regarding any and all aspects of the island.

2 guest maximum. Check-in/check-out is generally flexible, but when guests depart and others arrive on the same day, may require 11:00 check-out/1:00 check-in, depending on guest schedules. Guests are always able to stash their gear in the extra apartment, use that bathroom etc., if you are arriving early or are departing on a late flight or ferry.

Accès des voyageurs

Guests have access to anything/everything in the apt.

Règlement intérieur

Please respect the apartment as if it were your own. The block gets pretty quiet after dark and neighbors can hear everything as windows remain open most of the time, so please be conscientious and respectful after 9:00 or so.

And if you could be mindful of the vintage pajilla couch--don't sit on it while wet (stretches out the pajilla), etc--it would be appreciated!

No Smoking in the apartment!

We were very looking forward to our stay at Vieques and Masons aparment was the best choise to stay at. Mason wasn't there when we arrived, but that was absolutely no problem, he was even so kind and gave us the bigger aparment although we booked the less expensive one. And I have to tell you: The apartment is more beautiful (in real life) than it looks on the pictures. It is so romantic with all the lights on the ceiling and so comfortable. It was very special and we really enjoyed our stay. He even provided free drinks and fruits in the fridge. Like a Minibar for free :) and he also had beach towels and loads of snorkelling gear we could borrow. To top that, he even had some shovels and a buckets to build a sandcastle - what of course we did :D. He had a folder set up at the living room table, where he provided information about the sourrounded area. And everything that it said in the folder is really true. Like the food at Quoci Fire - it was so good! And the owners were chatty and nice and we had a good conversation for like an hour. The beaches at Vieques are more than worth it to go there!!! It is a very special place. I wanna thank Mason for making the experience at Vieques so unique. We will keep this memories in mind for ever.

We had an amazing experience staying with Mason in Vieques. He gave us a lot of information when we arrived regarding transport and sights to see around the island along with providing his favorite Food recs. He also was very responsive to requests and even provided us with beer, water, and snorkel equipment to use. Would highly recommend staying here.

Mason was a wonderful host. He was quick to respond to any questions we had and sat down with us to give us tips for the week. The apartment was clean and cool and provided us with everything we needed. The fridge had beers and waters when we arrived, and we were able to borrow snorkeling equipment, which we used daily. We loved being able to walk into town for food and drinks- the location is excellent.

Casa Bicicleta was a very nice place to stay during our Vieques trip. Mason provides all the beach essentials - towels, beach chairs, even a snorkel and flippers! We did not realize that there would be no microwave or oven (we went grocery shopping before getting to the apartment) - don't buy frozen pizza if you are staying at Mason's place! The communication was excellent! If you don't plan on renting a car, you may want to consider staying in Esperanza, rather than Isabel II (where Mason's house is) - many of the touristy restaurants and the parties take place there.

I will be on the property at least through April and am happy to interact as much or as little as guests would like. I feel like I'm fairly good at reading people and tend to err on the side of privacy. But again, I'm just as happy to socialize and share what I know about the island.
