This cabin was an original homestead cabin on the ranch. This cabin is one of 4 cabins at Granite Creek Ranch. Granite Creek is a 5th generation cattle ranch in the scenic mountains of Eastern Idaho. Originally homesteaded in the early 1900's, Granite Creek now consists of thousands of acres. Natural springs feed each of our cabins and ranch house by gravity flow. Very comfortable with an overhang porch. Two hammocks are right outside the cabin. There is a shared small deck area with benches and lawn (URL HIDDEN) cabin sits near a creek and right next to our horse corral.

There is an electric heater; some nights can become a little chilly even when warm during the day. Also a small fridge to keep beverages or food items cold during your stay. Private bathroom with hot water shower.

Some one will be there to greet you and show you around. We are a working cattle ranch so our family and a few ranch workers will be 'around the ranch' at all times, either tending to cattle, fixing fence, working in the fields or other ranch duties. At times we are very busy with work and not able to visit with you as much as we would like to! But we are always available by messaging for any questions you may have. We have a folder in each cabin sharing our history and other "things to know".

There are many secluded places one can simply enjoy the scenery and nature.

Autres remarques

PLEASE READ! The cabins are close to the corrals and barn, so at times we may have cattle in the corrals. We also have quite a few horses that hang around the corrals and the barn area during the day.

Grocery stores are an hour away, if you are planning additional meals besides our (URL HIDDEN) prepared for this. There is room in our kitchenette fridges to keep some food items. There are gas stations with some provisions within 15 minutes, in Swan Valley, 8 miles East of the ranch. There are also a few restaurants in Swan Valley. We have some basic cooking utensils for food preparation in the kitchenette: pots and pans, cutting boards, cutlery, and grill utensils.

Verizon cellular phone service works the best in our location, other carriers usually work within a few miles of the ranch There is a coin-operated laundromat 20 miles west of the ranch in a town called Ririe. Please read directions to our location very carefully.

We usually have a ranch dog and barn kittens. They love attention, but please do not allow them in your cabin or the kitchenette.

Peter's place was exactly as described and a great place to spend the night. He and the ranch staff were kind and helpful.

If you are looking for quiet farm atmosphere, this is a great place. I forgot I am allergic to most animals and my allergies kicked in both nights since the cabins are directly bordering the horses. Everything was very clean and comfortable with an entire cabin just for you to prepare your food. All breakfast food is included.

Beautiful location. Rustic little cabins but very clean. Kitchen well stocked with all kind of goodies for breakfast. Horse back riding on Peter's property the highlight of our trip !

Peter communicated with us clearly and ahead of time and was there when we said we'd arrive. The place was rustic as I expected but very clean. What a bonus to have our own bathroom after camping for days. The kitchen/dining area had more than I expected - good assortment of breakfast items (also in the fridge), grill outside, microwave. Just the mini electric stove was slow to heat up, but a very small inconvenience. Microwave did the job. We could meet with other guests there or on the grounds and it was very fun to talk to them about their trips etc. We spend one day just on the ranch, horseback riding and fishing in the pond (kids loved it!) and just hanging out, played games (also provided) and sat by the fire in the evening. We'd definitely come back for a quiet getaway or a longer stay with opportunities for other activities within hour drive. We stayed here on our way from Yellowstone/Grand Teton trip. It's far for a base or day trips to there, but a great place to stay on the way to wherever your are going after.

We had a great time with our stay at the Granite Creek Ranch! During our 5-day stay we enjoyed horseback riding, boating in the lake, relaxing in the hammocks, talking with the other guests, playing with the cats & dogs and taking in the beautiful scenery around the ranch. Peter was very helpful the whole time and even helped us at the beginning when our iPhone sent us down the wrong road.

I'm owner and manager of Granite Creek Ranch, a 4th generation cattle ranch where I also grow alfalfa, barley and wheat. I love being able to work outdoors and I enjoy creating a place where others can also come and enjoy the scenery, peacefulness and mountain fresh air. I like learning about different cultures and history as well as learning new skills and ways of doing things.
