A large, open concept, bright and recently renovated basement apartment consisting of a kitchen area, lounge area and a double sized bed with a memory foam mattress, a small dresser and an armoire.
The kitchen has a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee makers (electric, French press and drip), electric kettle and hot pot. There is also a cafe table and chairs.
The lounge area has a humongous desk containing a large selection of local travel info, an easy chair, a coffee table and a couch that converts into a single bed. There is a tv with a digial convertor box (about 20 or so channels) and a dvd player with a small selection of dvds. There is also free wifi.
The bathroom has a large shower and vanity, and of course, a toilet.
The entire space is private, has a private entrance, and is not cluttered with other peoples possessions- the armoire and dresser drawers are empty.
Can't be beat for access to downtown Portland, the Oregon Convention Center, and the eastside Belmont and Hawthorne neighborhoods. Portland's 28th street restaurant row is right around the corner, and three blocks away there is a Whole Foods and a very cool second run movie theater.
I allow dogs on a case by case basis. Please contact me first before booking if you're traveling with a dog. There is a small cleaning fee.
The number 19, 20, and 12 bus lines are all close by and will take you downtown and to the airport. If you are driving there is always on street parking nearby. There is an Enterprise car rental lot on Sandy approximately three blocks away and six zipcars within a mile.
No smoking of any kind is allowed in the apartment or on the premises. The entry door to the apartment has an electronic combination lock. I'll give you the combination before you arrive. Please make sure the door is locked before you leave and after you enter the house.
À partir du 1 août 2015 - 30 septembre 2015, la durée minimum de séjour est de 3 nuits.
Dan (and Ruby! :) were at home to greet me when I arrived, gave me easy instructions for the back door lock, information about the space, and answered all my questions.
The apartment was absolutely perfect for my time in Portland. Large, very clean and homey, and had everything I'd need for my stay. Dan's house is extremely close (3-5 minute walk) to numerous great restaurants and coffee shops just down the street (Kern's Kitchen is fantastic). The neighborhood is filled with colorful old homes, trees, steps away from a park, and near many bus stops to make getting around Portland a breeze. Very easy access to and from the airport using TriMet. I felt extremely safe and had a wonderful time using Dan for my travel housing. Absolutely would recommend.
Dan was an awesome host. He has done this for so long, adding improvements to his airbnb experience over the years, and it shows in every thoughtful detail.
The room was great, very clean, lots of useful info about Portland. Wifi was perfect. All in all a great airbnb experience.
Our stay was great! Dan made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The listing was exactly how it's described. He made our arrival and check out very smooth. We would absolutely stay here again!
Dan's private apartment was the perfect place for our stay in Portland. The accommodations were as described in the listing page and reviews- everything was very neat and comfortable. We drove to town, and found street parking to be plentiful. Just up the street were great dining options - this is the perfect place for visit to Portland.
This was our second time staying with Dan and it was so nice to visit our chicken friends in the backyard again! The basement suite is really nice and spacious with lots of helpful guides, directions, advice for visitors to PDX. Dan made himself really available and was happy to answer our questions but we also were afforded a great deal of privacy. The best part was the neighbourhood, which was ten stars. Parks, bars, restaurants, Whole Foods, Laurelhurst Cinema, and lots of other great stops all on the doorstep. If the weather is nice, the walk downtown is very pleasant too!
Dan's apartment had exactly what I was looking for, great location, affordable, and clean & private. The neighborhood is a nice mixture of residential and commercial, and there are several bus stop from which you can go directly to downtown. Dan is a really nice host, I really appreciated him helping me find a dinner spot after my late arrival in Portland.
Dan's apartment in Portland was perfect for our stay! It was just as pictured, clean and cozy. Dan was very communicative and came to greet us upon arrival and departure, which made us feel very welcome. His guidebook in the apartment had great recommendations, we went to several of them! The neighborhood is fantastic, within walking distance to almost anything you would want to do in Portland! I would stay here again and highly recommend that you do, too! Thanks, Dan!

À propos de l'hôte, Dan
I'm originally from Chicago and have lived in Portland for about eight years. I've always had a passion for travel and have been lucky enough to visit about 40 countries, most recently Vietnam, Cambodia and Taiwan. Closer to home, funky, big city neighborhoods are my favorite places to explore. The natural beauty and mild climate are what drew me to the Pacific NW, but I return often to Chicago where I maintain business interests.
