Le logement

This is 1 of 2 tents in our back yard, a perfect space for one or two travelers in the Arbor Lodge neighborhood.
We'll provide an electric blanket on request.
TV in living area includes HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax.

Includes breakfast daily by John or Katy, an excellent southern cook. Do you like biscuits & gravy?
Sunday brunch includes quiche, fruit salad and mimosas.
If you want other meals $5/person/meal. We happily cater to special dietary concerns, provided we have enough notice.

We are very health-minded, and our meals reflect that, featuring Katy's healthy cheesecakes and John's fruit salad.
Katy can even be talked into fixing a picnic for a day at the coast.

When your stay with us is finished, we'll provide a care package of homemade cookies to accompany you on your travels.

There's a grill and outdoor eating spaces as well.

We are environmentally friendly. We have a solar water heater, and 100% of the power we use comes from renewable sources. We encourage our guests to recycle whenever possible, and throw food scraps in the compost bin.

Our home is comfortable and clean and when you stay here you have access to the entire house. We are conveniently located to many trendy neighborhoods in Portland. Public transportation (bus lines and Portlands Max line) is a few minutes walk from the house. There are bicycle pathways all around us and if you are driving easy access to the freeway and within minutes of downtown Portland.

The Mississippi and Alberta Arts districts are within easy access, as are many wonderful restaurants, and events. Hiking, skiing , the Oregon coast are all within 2 hours of our home. I have lived in Portland for over 30 years , and can help you with the many recreational choices available to you. We are also very helpful with restaurants, wine country ideas, museum and shopping choices. We love Portland and would be happy to help you have the best time you can while you are here.

Please tell me a little bit about yourself when you make a reservation or inquiry - where you're coming from, purpose of your visit, your interests, etc.

Let me know if you have questions about anything at all: about us, our home, Portland or Airbnb in general.

Accès des voyageurs

Access to 1st floor living area of the house, yard and deck, bathroom/shower, laundry in the basement. Queen double-high airbed with bamboo or Egyptian cotton sheets. Electric blanket available if too cold. We have a beautiful back yard and it is not uncommon for there to be pitchers of loaded lemonade in the evenings while we grill dinner. You can even help if you like. Smoking is OK outside (not in the tent, please!)

Échanges avec les voyageurs

Katy will interact a great deal. John is usually out playing sports (softball, volleyball, ping-pong) or cribbage, so is not around as much.
But when John is here, if you'd like to play a card game or board game, he's in!

Le quartier

Quiet, easy walking access to restaurants and shopping, several nearby parks, great neighbors. There are all sorts of nice little eating places within walking distance ranging from an excellent little hole in the wall mexican place to sports pubs. We have parks close for afternoons out and about .
Bike lanes, paths and trails abound.

Excellent public transit with numerous bus lines stopping 1/2 block to 1/2 mile away; 3/4 mile to MAX line (train). Easy freeway access, 10 to 15 minutes to downtown.
Off-street parking for 1 car (unless another guest already has it); ample on-street parking

Autres remarques

What guests like:
Katy is an awesome cook; screened-in back deck is excellent for eating and hanging out; homey atmosphere.

What some guests dislike:
We are 420 friendly. If marijuana offends you, please book somewhere else.
Steep driveway, steps, 2-story house, so those with mobility problems may have issues.
House is 90 years old, so is impossible to make look spotless, but we do our best.

Portland offers tax-free shopping, more craft breweries than anywhere else on earth and an acclaimed dining scene.
3 golf courses within 4 miles of us: Heron Lakes (public), Columbia Edgewater and Riverside Country Clubs (private)

The atmosphere is exactly what is described a happy haven for stoners from all walks of life. I particularly enjoyed the comfort of my bed in the tent. sleeping outside during a soft rain is very pleasant. The neighborhood is everything you would expect from Portland anything you could want to do within walking distance I would recommend this accommodation to any of my friends.

We were completely welcomed, and literally felt very comfortable the moment we stepped in. I was happily surprised how cozy and comfortable the tent was. The bed was hard to get out of, and the back yard was very cozy, of which we shared with someone also traveling. We will be staying here again without a doubt.

Very kind folks. Welcoming and accommodating, with a breakfast invitation to boot! They really have a heart to serve and even willing to get up early and make oatmeal and coffee.. The tent accommodations are incredibly comfy.. Right outside the house is a bus stop that easily gets you to Mississippi/albina or Alberta district and you can get around from there pretty easy to the rest of p town. Don't dismiss killingsworth, you can find some good food if you're not wanting to travel too far. My first Airbnb experience and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I am so grateful for John and Katy. I ended up needing a place to stay after 10 pm and couldn't have been happier. The bed was fantastic. I slept so well and truly enjoyed the nice big breakfast the next morning! Katy and John made me feel so comfortable and helped me get back to the airport local-style. : ) thank you! I look forward to visiting Portland and staying with John and Katy.

We felt for staying in a tent that this was a little pricey, however we left booking our accommodating to the last minute and were happy to find somewhere in a good location available. Overall we had a good time on our stay. Located only a short drive into Portland with plenty of food and shops nearby. Katie was very accommodating and we enjoyed the food she provided for us. We didn't have any interaction with the other people in the house. Keep in mind when booking that there is another tent directly next to this one that is also listed on air bnb. This wasn't an issue for us but could have the potential for issues with noise being in close proximity to other guests.

John was extremely accommodating. We requested to stay on short notice and he took us in with open arms and made us feel very welcome. We seriously got lucky by staying here.
