Big shared kitchen, if you wish to use it! Host provides coffee and bagels, as the morning sun fills the whole main floor (if no sun, then light...for sure, light...hey, it IS Portland)!

À propos de ce logement

Master bedroom with private bathroom in newer duplex unit you share with me (including kitchen, laundry, and outdoor patio table). I'm across from park, one block from bus, 5 blocks to light rail. Between two parks, the one across the street has tennis courts. Friendly neighborhood, 10-15 minutes to downtown. During Sept 8-19th, you will have the whole place to yourself for a fraction of the usual cost, but there's a catch...feed my two cats? Animal lovers welcome!

Private room in friendly Arbor Lodge neighborhood across from Arbor Lodge Park. Light, quiet, clean. Private room has full bath with tub/shower, queen bed, and wifi internet access. My 8 yr-old duplex includes shared space (with me) of kitchen, laundry, and additional half bath on main. I'm on a corner between two parks, 1 block to bus, 6 blocks to light rail and New Seasons whole foods store and neighborhood "hangout." I'm also on a "bike boulevard" with ez access to downtown by bike, rail, bus or car. I-5, University of Portland, and Vancouver, WA also within a couple of miles. Two "secret" indoor-outdoor cats live here too, but you probably won't see them, and they don't use a litter box, so you won't smell them either!

This is a great venue for creative types who want peace and tranquility for regrouping in between activities while visiting Portland. Have coffee in my wonderful main floor "great room" with lots of morning light and a park view...or sleep late in your private upstairs room (guests have commented on how quiet it is). I can also recommend nearby restaurants for breakfast/lunch/dinner, and can provide transportation from the airport, which is only ten minutes away. Share my idyllic setting which I enjoy in this unique neighborhood...the perfect combination of "hip" and "home!"

See "the space" above.

I'm not too available, but always can answer questions by phone while you're here. I will make sure you're comfortable upon arrival, and maybe we'll share coffee in the morning (I will provide coffee, bagels, and instant oatmeal, fruit).

There are two smaller grocery stores, New Seasons and the Green Zebra (very small but it's the closest for walking). Fred Meyer is a large store with everything (clothes, plants, food, paint, toys, furniture, pharmacy...everything!). Public transportation is awesomely convenient, and I'm across from a beautiful park (with tennis courts, Harper's Playground, pesticide-free off-leash dog park, soccer and softball field, etc)...and another park is a block away! My street is a "bike boulevard" which means not much vehicle traffic but lots of bike traffic, and plenty of neighbors out strolling/jogging and walking the dog. You'll find it pretty low key and friendly.

I am one block to the bus, and 5 blocks to light rail. The bus can actually take you to light rail too. Both services are very good in Portland, and operate regularly enough to be very convenient.

I prefer cool temperature. It would be hard to share the house with someone who wants heat on when it's 65 degrees, for instance. I don't think I've ever turned the heat to 80 degrees. I use energy sparingly, so when it's hot, I shut blinds on the east side in the morning, and open windows for ventilation in the cool evenings.

If you post a profile, it makes it much easier to decide on a confirmation. Sending a brief message about who you are and what brings you to Portland is extremely helpful. Unlike a hotel, I can't confirm without knowing who I'm inviting into my home! I try to accommodate your needs, and you can see from my reviews that it's been working pretty well, and I do look forward to meeting my next guests!

Hi, I'm excited about being an AirBNB host! I like providing a comfortable respite from the road, and I definitely enjoy meeting people from all over. I live across from a beautiful neighborhood park that has tennis courts just steps away, and provides a serene setting, yet is close to all the great activities in neighborhoods downtown, in Mississippi, Alberta Arts, and Piedmont, to name a few. The house is half of a duplex. It is a 1500sf unit with 3 bedrms, 2.5 baths, hardwood floors in the "great room" which is one big room including fully loaded kitchen, living room, and dining room. People love the openness of the main floor. French doors to small front yard provide an open, friendly area for morning coffee or regrouping over wine in the evening. Other amenities include laundry room, full service refrigerator, and ample street parking. Conveniently located just a half block to bus, 6 blocks to light rail, I-5, and New Seasons whole foods store, 10 minutes to downtown (unless you want to take the bike trail, which makes it more like 20 minutes).

I am a writer and singer, and I have a lot in common with artistic types, but love to get to know all types of people. I'm definitely open and somewhat savvy about the world, though haven't traveled much (that's about to change, thanks to AirBNB!). Come enjoy a weekend, a week, or a month in the hidden Arbor Lodge neighborhood. I live here because it's close to everything, and yet feels like I'm in the country. A second park is only a block away, and the University of Portland and Adidas campus are just a few blocks away, along the bluffs overlooking downtown . I can help you get to know our completely amazing jewel of a city! My life mission is to "make a difference." This is my hosting style too. Welcome.

Sandi
