Circus artist and Burning Man attendee Easton has an ear to the ground for local performances and gatherings, and if you're lucky, you may catch him spinning fire in the backyard! Easton just finished a PhD at Columbia in ethnoarchaeology, gender, and human sexuality and now works as a brand anthropologist. Camille is an actress, model, and lyra artist and Lindsay is galavanting around as a singer/songwriter, photographer, and videographer.
The home is a duplex. The second floor is a SHARED space. You will have the entire first floor to yourself with your own entrance and bathrooms. We live upstairs on the second level of the duplex. Please note: the two spaces are connected by a spiral staircase. This makes both spaces semi-private and keeps the Airbnb legal by NY state law.
Rule #1: You are our guest and we are happy to be hosting you.
We are a safe space for all creeds, ethnicities, and beliefs. No discrimination, bigotry, or racism is allowed.
We live conscientiously and respectfully with each other, our neighbors, our city, and our planet. We recycle, compost, and practice energy conservation as much as possible. To that end we ask that you turn off the lights and air conditioning when not in use, put any leftovers (coffee grounds, banana peels, apple cores) in the compost bin provided, and use the cloth bags placed at the door when you go shopping to avoid plastic bags.
If you are a smoker, please go outside the front gate to do so. We keep our windows open a lot and it drifts inside otherwise. We really appreciate it.
Please remove shoes when at all possible, the streets can be quite dirty and this keeps the space as clean and sanitary as possible.
We try to keep "school hours". This means the upstairs kitchen is available between 9am - 10pm, and outside these hours we ask that everyone just be respectful of noise. During the weekends we extend these to midnight or 1 am. We are also open to discussing exceptions when needed.
This space does comfortably allow you to entertain a small group of friends and we welcome and encourage respectful gatherings as long as they are communicated to us beforehand and are within reasonable noise, size, and time limits.
Remember, you are awesome.
