Enjoy my 3-room apartment from the 1930s, modernly furnished, with stained glass doors, 2 balconies and a big bathroom with bath. Set in the popular neighbourhood Bos & Lommer in Amsterdam West, 10-15 min by tram to the centre of the city.

The apartment:
The apartment is on the 1st floor and is 60m2. It is ideal for a couple or a small family. There is a spacious living room with flatscreen tv and wifi internet. The stained glass slide doors give access to the dining room and the stained glass ensuite doors give access to the bedroom.
The bedroom has a large queensized bed for two. In the living room an extra person can sleep on the large couch (legs stretched, really comfy) or on an big automatic inflatable airbed which is provided.
The apartment has two balconies, so you can always sit in the sun! My favorite place is the large balcony in the back where you can enjoy your breakfast in sunny weather.
The kitchen is fully equipped (stove, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, cutlery, pans, plates, etc.) You can use anything from the kitchen like herbs, coffee, tea.
The bathroom is very spacious, with a bath and a separate shower. You can use the washing machine and dryer. You can make use of the towels, toilet paper, washing powder, etc.

To keep the neighbors happy, parties are not allowed.

The whole apartment is for your own use.

I like to welcome my guests in person, so I can answer any questions and I can give you advice on where to go and what to do, depending on your needs. If I'm not able to meet you, a friend or family member will be there to welcome you and help you out when needed. When you make a reservation, please let me know when you arrive and when you plan to leave again, so I can give you the keys when you arrive and you can hand me the keys when you leave (or we can arrange something else when needed). I know I don't have any reviews yet, but this is because I just started renting my place. I hope you trust me in doing my best and then the rest will follow ;)

The Neighborhood:
The apartment is set in a quiet and safe neighborhood, but there are also lot's of things to see and do! The Erasmaspark is right at the end of the street, the Westerpark (including nice bars, restaurants and clubs) is just a few blocks away, reachable by foot. Shops and grocery stores are all around you and there are some great restaurants to eat out (Thai, Indonesian, Italian, Turkish). There are also some great bars!
Bos & Lommer is part of Amsterdam West, which I think is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in town. You find almost everything here! This multi-culti area – with a laid back attitude – is home to a cool mix of independent stores and many restaurant hotspots. You will find a diversity of cozy coffee places, cool concept stores and vintage boutiques. Amsterdam West is also great for foodies! You find a nice eatery at almost every corner. Amsterdam West can be divided in different neighbourhoods. All with their own characteristics! Explore them all and discover the Foodhallen, the first indoor food market of Amsterdam at the Kinkerstraat and Bellamy square. Or go shopping at one of the trendy streets like the Jan Pieter Heijestraat which is packed with cool stores. In the upcoming Baarsjes you will find the nicest restaurants and stores at almost every corner. Make sure to check out the Jan Evertsenstraat and the Admiraal the Ruijterweg.
For recommendations, please check my travel guide at the bottom of this page (you can also find a printed version in my apartment).

Public transport:
If you come by train and want to get to my apartment, you can go to Amsterdam Sloterdijk (it's 7 min from Central Station and 15 min from Schiphol). From there you can take tram 12 to the stop called De Rijpstraat (it takes 10 min), which is just around te corner of my apartment. If you want to get into the city, you can take tram 14 (to the centre, 15 min) or tram 12 (to Vondelpark and Museum square, 15 min)

Renting a bike:
It's possible to rent bicycles to get into town the way the Dutch people like it the best :) It's save to try it yourself, you'll love it! The nearest bike rental is Rent A Bike in the Derde Hugo de Grootstraat 4IV. You can rent a bike for 6,50 euro for 1 day, 12 euro for 2 days.

By car:
It is possible to park your car pretty close by the apartment, but it is payed parking. There is a parking garage a few blocks away, it costs 1 euro per hour. There is also a transferium (P+R Bos en Lommer) a few blocks away. You can park there in the weekend for just 1 euro per 24 hours, and then you have to get a tram/bus dayticket for 5 euro for 2 persons, which you need to use (you probably will).

Taxi: taxis are pretty expensive in Holland. A taxi to Schiphol Airport costs 35 euros and takes 15 min. You can call for a taxi to Taxi Direct Amsterdam, or you can take an Uber taxi.

House rules:
You will be a guest in my own apartment, when I will be off for the weekend or holidays, so I would like you to be careful with the apartment, as if it was your own.
Smoking is not allowed inside the apartment, but you can smoke on the balconies, but please be quiet at night because of the neighbors.
Also inside the house I want to ask you to not be loud, because it can be noisy.
No parties at any time please (only silent parties)
I love my wooden floors (and my neighbors) so please do not walk on it with high heels.
Be careful with the stained glass doors, because they are fragile.
There is a 200 euro damage deposit. Only in case of damage or loss of keys (part of) the deposit could be contained by Airbnb.
The maximum number of guest is 4. Please do not invite any other visitors to the apartment.
Please close the windows once you leave the house for safety reasons.

Clean and comfortable flat. You can get from it to the centre of Amsterdam within 15 minutes. Bernou prepared for her guests list of places they can visit with description what is interesting there - for those who is first time in Amsterdam this can be useful.

We enjoyed Bernou`s apartment. It was clean and well equipped. You`ll find there everything you need. The location is also great just a few minutes from the city center. Thanks for having us and we will back for sure.

Perfect apartment. Easy to get to from the center, very close to a gall & gall if you need to buy booze (they can be quite hard to find), 15 minutes walk to de school if you're into clubbing, and right next to a very chilled out canal side park. The beds were comfy and the apartment was cosy. 10/10 would stay again, thanks bernou

Bernou's apartment is brilliant and genuinely made my trip to Amsterdam more enjoyable. The whole process from booking to checking-out was smooth and Bernou made regualr contact with me prior and during my visit. I didn't have the chance to meet Bernou as she was on holiday during my visit but she had left keys with a trusted source which was very close to the apartment. The neighborhood is friendly and peaceful and has everything you need within a couple minutes walk. There are 2 tram stops also a few minutes away which take 10-15 minutes to get to Leidseplein and Dam Square. I couldn't have faulted my experience. Thank you :)

Even though we did not meet Bernou, everything was as expected and we had a great stay at her place!

I've been living in Amsterdam for 12 years. I've lived in several different neighborhoods, finally found my own apartment in 2009 in Bos en Lommer. I love the neighborhood because it can be so quiet, hearing nothing else than birds sing when you wake up. But it is also close to the center. My apartment was build in the 1930's and has a great atmosphere.
I love to travel myself and have enjoyed Airbnb as a guest, but now I also rent my own apartment to others so people can enjoy my city!
