The Bali Room is one of two spacious bedrooms (each 11' x 17') in the Guest Wing with access to the den, and a private bathroom. Wing is a new addition to a 1925 shingled bungalow with abundant light, green outlooks, French doors, and balconies. Preference will be given to two night minimum reservations on the weekends during the summer months.
This beautifully remodeled home blends Craftsman qualities with modern amenities. Guests enter through the kitchen door and the guest wing is located nine steps upstairs. The house floorplan affords privacy, relaxation, and comfortable spaciousness. Two bedrooms are available, both with queen size mattresses. The Beaver Room presents a Pacific Northwest decor, and the Bali Room is outfitted from the hosts' travel in Indonesia, including a batik bedspread purchased directly off the artist's clothesline in rural Bali. One bathroom is a combo bath and shower upstairs and the second shower-only bathroom is on the kitchen level. Guests have exclusive use of the bathrooms, plus robes for accessing the bathrooms..
Accès des voyageurs
Guests' access includes their bedroom and bathroom exclusively. The adjacent den/workspace is shared if the second bedroom is occupied. There is a refrigerator and a microwave as well as a coffee maker and a tea maker, in the guest area. Host's kitchen is not available for guest use.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
The hosts are recently transplanted from California to the Portland area, and are eager to discover and share new favorite places. Interaction is welcome, as the guests wish. We are happy to share interests in travel, the arts, sports, and world events. Our adult children live in New York and Paris, and help broaden our horizons.
A playful two year old dog is part of the household. Ravi is a Coton, a 13 pound neutered male. He takes his self-appointed role as guardian of the house seriously, and barks when people arrive. Dogs and their families are warmly welcomed, and please anticipate a friendly, yet noisy wag-n-sniff time. We are located down a short private driveway off Walker Road. The yard is not fenced, and due to proximity to the road, it's safest to keep dogs leashed.
Non-smokers only, please. Contact hosts to discuss your dog and get prior-approval. Dogs can not occupy the room without the owner present. There is a $10 per night doggie HOA fee. Due to allergies, cats cannot be accepted. Upon request, space in the refrigerator will be made available, however we do not share cooking facilities.

Linda's currently works for the Portland dance presenter, White Bird. Her career has been devoted to the arts as a curator and fundraiser for UCLA School of Arts and Architecture, UC Berkeley Cal Performances, San Francisco Ballet, and San Jose Museum of Art. Linda had an art consulting business in San Francisco for a dozen years, acquired art, and produced exhibitions for Marin County, Transamerica and Chevron. Jon's career focused on transportation and planning. Rising to political challenges over seven years, he chaired the Freeway Removal Committee, which ultimately reconnected and renewed San Francisco's waterfront. We joined forces on the Fine Arts Guidelines Committee that created the Per Cent for Public Art Program. We love to travel and enjoy people, the arts and culture of other places. Linda, Jon and Ravi have lived in Portland OR since June 2015.
