We are a married couple who live a busy but fun lifestyle in Cornwall.
Des hails from Middlesbrough and myself Cornwall. Des runs his own business close to our home and has a passion for music. Sarah takes care of the home which has been an on going project since we moved in 10 years ago (the day after we got married with Des' five children in tow!) all but one of the children have now flown the nest and the last is currently at university. Sarah looks after the Airbnb reservations and accommodation and she has recently become a member on the local NSPCC Committee. The charity is something that she loves to be involved in, helping organise events is a real delight & knowing the charity is raising funds for vulnerable children in the UK is extremely rewarding. We have one dog called Dolly who is a little dog with a big dog personality but adorable! In our spare time together we like to travel and have visited a mixture of places including Cuba, Dubai, The Gambia, New York and some of Europe, we have a long list of destinations we would love to visit. Our main love in life is spending time with family & friends and most weekends involves them. We like to go to live music concerts and we have been lucky enough to have seen some eclectic acts at the Eden Sessions held at the Eden Project a short drive from our home. We love our food and drink and indulge this passion wherever possible from the good old fashioned fish & chips to fine dining in some lovely restaurants & pubs. Des also has a vested interest in two pubs, The Treby Arms in Sparkwell near Plymouth and The Springer Spaniel which is near to our home.
We are hoping to buy a property in southern Spain in the near future so hopefully we will be able to add this to our Airbnb listings. So if you like fun in the sun keep an eye out for new Airbnb addition!
Our style of hosting is informal, relaxed, open minded and we hope that our guests approach is the same. We like to treat our guests like friends and encourage them to make themselves right at home.
Our main motivation for listing on Airbnb was an experience we had with two young ladies that came to housesit for us a few years ago. Abby from Texas, USA & Catherine from Melbourne, Australia were a couple of young travellers exploring Europe subsidising their trip through freelance writing. We spent a few days with them at the end of their stay and were enlightened by their enthusiasm, zest for life and adventure and this ignited our interest to meet new people in our home from around the globe on their own adventures.
Our life motto is....live the life you love & love the life you live and no matter what keep smiling!
We look forward to meeting you.
Des & Sarah
